| “ | When friends combine their power, they can become a full-steam train! It choo-choos right over walls, charging full speed ahead. It's the Dream Friendship Express! Hop on! | ” | — Kirby Star Allies Pause Screen description |
Friend Train is aFriend Action present inKirby Star Allies. It allows Kirby (or any other friend) to form up in a line with three other friends and move very quickly in a train-like formation. The leader also gains a conductor's hat with a smokestack coming out the top. While Friend Train is active, the friends will run forward at very high speed, unable to stop or turn around. Any enemies they run into will be defeated, and various obstacles can also be broken. The Friend Train is also capable of moving up walls and running along the ceiling, contorting to whatever surface the friends run across. While running, the Friend Train can perform a single jump to alter their course, and prevent them from falling into abottomless pit or other hazard.
Friend Train is notably much more heavily featured inGuest Star ???? Star Allies Go! than the main game, where it appears three times in total.
Usage[edit]
The Friend Train is used in the following stages:
- Sector B
- Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go!: original rooms in Level 1, 3 and 5.
- Heroes in Another Dimension - Dimension II
Trivia[edit]
- The train whistle sound effects were created byJun Ishikawa via himself blowing an empty energy drink bottle.[1]
- The train doesn't jump off the ground if the jump button is pressed on an angled surface, but the train whistle will still blow under these circumstances.
- When a Friend Train section ends, the friends will come out of their formation by falling on their faces and then brushing themselves off (Meta Knight andDark Meta Knight's equivalent of this animation is one where they land on their feet and look around cautiously). This also happens withFriend Circle.
