Even the stoic Meta Knight has fallen prey to the enemy's evil influence, and now their foreboding fortress has suddenly appeared. Why have they come to this land? WHY?! Undeterred, Kirby and his friends charge forward with gusto.
— Level description inKirby Star Allies

Fortress of Shadows: Jambastion is the third level inKirby Star Allies. It is a huge floating fortress which serves as an outpost ofJambandra, and is overseen bythe Three Mage-Sisters -Francisca,Flamberge andZan Partizanne. In pursuit of the pieces of theJamba Heart, Jambastion embeds itself into PlanetPopstar. From there,Kirby and hisfriends infiltrate the fortress in an attempt to drive them off. Once Kirby defeats the Mage-Sisters here, they attempt to stop Kirby by destroying the fortress with him inside it, though Kirby manages to escape.

Stages[edit]

The Jambastion is accessible onceMeta Knight is defeated inWorld of Miracles: Planet Popstar. The Jambastion consists of nine stages, as well as aDream Palace; some of these stages are accessed on the world map using3D Warp Stars. There are fourbosses to face throughout the stages, withZan Partizanne being the last. Defeating her and then escaping unlocks the next level,Far-Flung Starlight Heroes.

Trivia[edit]

  • While Kirby and his allies infiltrate only one Jambastion, several more can be seen orbiting the great space stationJambandra. Despite the station's massive size, it has comparatively less areas for Kirby to traverse than the Jambastion which lands on Popstar.
  • Starting with Version 4.0.0, after clearingStory Mode,Shadow Kirby on aWarp Star may fly over the Jambastion level map on occasion.
  • Right before entering the boss fights with the Three Mage-Sisters, there will be candles surrounding the boss door representing each of the generals:
    • Francisca has four blue candles before her battle inLongview Corridor.
    • Flamberge has six red-orange candles before her battle inInner Sanctum.
    • Zan Partizanne has eight chartreuse candles before her battle inHeavenly Hall.
