"For the Brave"[2] is a theme fromKirby Star Allies that plays in the stageClash at Castle Dedede. It was composed byHirokazu Ando.[1]
Composition[edit]

"For the Brave" is a resolute and dramatic orchestral theme in C minor and 4/4. It is primarily a medley of "A New Wind for Tomorrow" and "King Dedede's Theme", two themes associated with the final stretch ofKirby's Dream Land. It starts with a brass and percussion intro that sets the key and character. The "A New Wind for Tomorrow" has a balance of strings and brass in the lead; the melody itself is modified, as the phrase's highest note is dragged out, after which the full version of the melody plays out, then followed by the shorter variant again. Closing out the period is an abridged and less conclusive version of "Kirby's Triumphant Return". The second period adds a new violin phrase to the accompaniment, and it reverses the order of the first two phrases, having the shorter variant of "A New Wind for Tomorrow" play after the first. Concluding the section is a proper iteration of "Kirby's Triumphant Return", which ends with a rising fourth hinting at the source's "Green Greens" resolution.
The following section comes in soon after, introducing a harmonically varied version of "King Dedede's Theme", where strings and brass transition from one another smoothly as the lead. The harmonic variation leads to the development of the descending intonation and rhythm. The rhythmical variance carries over to a climactic brass solo "A New Wind for Tomorrow" with piano accompaniment. A glockenspiel takes over this melody. The theme ends with a bell solo that rounds out the harmony; after this, the track loops.
