Flotzo is an octopus-like creature which debuted as anenemy inKirby's Dream Land and that also appears in theKirby Super Star Ultra exclusive game -Revenge of the King.
Flotzo sports a deep maroon color, and uses its tentacles to move about on land and in water. Flotzo can be found in many different instances, walking around on the ground, and flying through the air in many different patterns. Its movement is generally more chaotic than Squishy. Like Squishy, it can be inhaled, but yields noCopy Ability if swallowed.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby's Dream Land[edit]
Flotzo makes its debut appearance inKirby's Dream Land. Here, it can be found in theExtra Game, where it takes the place of Squishy. Flotzo serves largely the same role as Squishy, but is somewhat faster in terms of movement, and deals two points of damage to Kirby on contact. It is worth 400 points when defeated by another attack.
Flotzo can be found inFloat Islands and its corresponding portion ofMt. Dedede.
Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble[edit]
Flotzo makes an appearance inKirby Tilt 'n' Tumble, popping out of water to shoot pellets at Kirby, which can knock him into the water when they connect. Flotzo can be defeated using theMicrophone or by using invincibility. Flotzo appears only inLvl 3-1.
Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]
Flotzo returns in full color in theKirby Super Star Ultra-exclusive gameRevenge of the King, appearing in the second level;Illusion Islands. Its behavior is changed from its original appearance to match Squishy's equivalent behavior in this game, though Flotzo deals more damage on touch and has much higherendurance.
Flotzo also appears in the intro cutscene forIllusion Islands, where it latches itself onto Kirby's face when he tries to reel it in using a fishing rod.
Kirby Mass Attack[edit]
Flotzo appears in theKirby Mass AttackSub-GameKirby Quest as one of Kirby's opponents. It appears alongsideSweet Stuff andSquishy in stages 23 and 33. It has 90 HP.
Other appearances[edit]
- Flotzo makes a brief cameo appearance in theKirby: Right Back at Ya! episodeA Fish Called Kine.
- An enemy calledGiant Flotzo appears inOnion Ocean - Stage 3 ofKirby's Return to Dream Land, though it bears little resemblance to Flotzo beyond both being octopi.
- Flotzo makes a cameo as a randomly-obtainedKeychain inKirby: Triple Deluxe.
- A giant mechanized version of Flotzo, calledFlotzo Borg, appears inKirby: Planet Robobot. Flotzo also appears as a randomly-obtainedSticker.
- A giant octopus vaguely resembling a Flotzo was planned to appear in the cancelledKid Kirby.
