| “ | If you don't act fast, theStar of Darkness will come back to life. Find theStarries in stages where meteors have fallen. | ” | — On-screen text upon entering Fallen-Star Volcano after the first time |
Fallen-Star Volcano is an island that is formed in thenew world as part of theStar-Crossed World story fromKirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World. It is where theStar of Darkness resides. It is considered an area andlevel, with it being unlocked as the former with the start of the Star-Crossed World story after clearingThe Brawl at the Mall inNatural Plains, and as a level proper after completingCrystal Beast Pack Volcano Battle inRedgar Forbidden Lands and rescuing 80Starries.
Overview[edit]
Fallen-Star Volcano is, as the name suggests, a volcanic island that was risen from the crash of the Sealed Meteor as shown in the opening cutscene of Star-Crossed World. It is mainly made of sharp rocks with some coral, and a small volcano in the backside. It is located in the sea near the Arrival Continent, specifically east of Natural Plains and south ofEverbay Coast.
Despite being a location in the world map after Star-Crossed World is unlocked, Fallen-Star Volcano cannot be directly accessed until all Starry Stages have been cleared. Trying to enter it before doing so will display a message telling the player to gather Starries before the Star of Darkness can awaken, and Kirby is taken back to the world map.
During the climax of the mode, a large crystal platform circled by dark clouds forms above the volcano, accompanied by the sky darkening. Additionally, theStar of Darkness isn't visible on the world map, with the interaction being replaced by the entrance to Star-Crossed World.

| “ | The Star of Darkness has come back to life! Kirby, we have to do something! | ” | — Elfilin, in reference toStar-Crossed World |
The stage begins withKirby andElfilin (andBandana Waddle Dee, if present) approaching the Star of Darkness with three Starries. The Starries complete the Sealing Crystal, and Kirby and company celebrate; however, the seal shatters, and an orb-like creature emerges from it and absorbs the Starries to take their power. Some Starries manage to flee to the top of the volcano, now a crystalized platform, and the creature follows it. Afterwards, the ground falls in, causing Kirby to fall into the final titular level,Star-Crossed World. Kirby navigates his way through the underground tunnels, before taking a crystal elevator up to the top of the volcano, where he findsGenwel Meteonelfilis, the creature who was in the Star of Darkness, fully powered up, and begins battle.

Genwel Meteonelfilis reuses many attacks hissibling uses, but they are much harder to dodge through the use of crystals along the ground. Once Kirby beats him, Meteonelfilis does not admit defeat, and absorbs the crystals from the platform they are standing on and becomes a giant, attacking with crystal swords, throwing crystals from his tail, smashing Kirby with his hand, and even trying to hit Kirby with a building. Once Kirby beats him again, Meteonelfilis's body dissipates, leaving only the core from his antlers. The core drops and reveals its eye, before shielding itself in crystal. Kirby must dodge meteors and summoned enemies to shatter the crystal, attack Meteonelfilis's core, and finally defeat him, repairing and returning color to the crystal platform, and freeing the Starries. Now free from Meteonelfilis's control, the Starries re-seal him, and fly back into space while Kirby and Elfilin watch the shooting stars.
