Fake Patches are items that appear alongside the realPatches inKirby Air Ride, in theCity Trial mode. They appear exclusively during the Fake Items event in the city.
If a racer tries to collect a Fake Patch, they will takedamage instead, and be inflicted with some kind of negative effect. This can include being knocked into the air or fallingasleep. There is no fake variant of the All-Up or HP patches.
Each Fake Patch resembles the real version, but misshaped or miscolored:
- The Boost Patch has its color shrunk and tilted inside its outline.
- The Top Speed Patch has flared tulip-like points instead of straight points.
- The Turn Patch is missing the arrowhead.
- The Charge Patch appears to have low battery instead of high battery.
- The Glide Patch has darker, circular blotches.
- The Weight Patch is shaped like a briefcase instead of an exercise weight.
- The Offense Patch has smaller, rounded corners.
- The Defense Patch is missing the middle hexagon.
The Fake Weight Patch also appears as asticker inKirby: Planet Robobot.
