Emp is a penguinenemy fromKirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It is first encountered inStage 1 ofAqua Star and yields theIceCopy Ability when swallowed. When it spotsKirby, it will attempt to slide away on its belly, but it can only slide so far. Emp also appears on the 67thEnemy Info Card.

Given the animal that Emps are based on, it is likely that their name comes from a species of penguin known asEmperor Penguins.

Emp was also planned to be included as a selectable pattern inKirby Family, a canceled application for theGame Boy Color that would send a pattern to a sewing machine for it to make.
