Drag Race is aStadium contest inKirby Air Ride andKirby Air Riders, having a chance to appear at the end ofCity Trial on default settings. It tasks the racers to take 1st on a long and straight course.

Overview[edit]

When a Drag Race contest begins, the contestants are placed at the start of a long straight course, with the objective being to reach the goal first. Depending on the course, there will be a number of different obstacles on the path, though none of them are dangerous. Contestants can attack each-other, and if a racer is KO'd, they will be forced to retire. Naturally, machines selected andpatched for sheer speed will do well here.

Kirby Air Ride[edit]

There are four distinct Drag Race courses inKirby Air Ride, with the fourth requiring aChecklist task cleared before it is unlocked. All four courses borrow their aesthetic from theChecker Knights course. They are as follows:

Drag Race 1[edit]

The first Drag Race course is a straightforward affair, featuring a course with no obstacles or elements besides a fewCopy Chance Wheels andDash Panels.

Drag Race 2[edit]

The second course has a split path near the start which bends a little before returning back to the main course. From there, further in are a couple grind rails which move back and forth.

Drag Race 3[edit]

The third course has a couple retractable walls which can be triggered using floor switches. After that, the path leads through some narrows, then off a ramp.

Drag Race 4[edit]

The fourth course contains several elevated and lowered paths side-by-side. It also leads through a building, urging caution for flying machines.

This course is initially locked. To unlock it, the player must finish Drag Race 3 in less than 27 seconds.

Kirby Air Riders[edit]

As with its predecessor,Kirby Air Riders features four Drag Race courses. Only the first two are available at the start, with Drag Race 3 and Drag Race 4 unlocked viaChecklist tasks. The courses therein are all noticeably wider than those featured inKirby Air Ride to accommodate for the increased maximum number of players.

Drag Race 1	The first course is simple and straightforward, with the only obstacles being Dash Panels, some of which move on conveyor belts. This course borrows its aesthetic fromMachine Passage.	Available from the start.
Drag Race 2	The second course features a set of three paths of different elevation side-by-side, followed by a Copy Chance Wheel and a series of pillars with ramps, dash panels, and dash rings scattered throughout. After this, the course slopes downward before becoming level again, ending with a long stretch with moving ramps and dash rings. This course borrows its aesthetic fromChecker Knights.	Available from the start.
Drag Race 3	The third course features several small bumps and divots in the road that can be used to start gliding, with several midair dash rings placed to encourage this. After a series of dash panels on conveyor belts and particularly large divots, the track splits into three paths, the leftmost featuring a small gap, the rightmost featuring no gaps, and the middle being a ramp at the edge of a sheer cliff. The three paths converge shortly after, with a few more ramps, dash panels, and dash rings standing just before the finish line. This course borrows its aesthetic fromGalactic Nova. Drag Race 4	The fourth course features rows of giant dash rings and spin panels. This course borrows its aesthetic fromCavernous Corners.	Stadium: Drag Race 3 Finish within 0:40.00 without ever leaving the ground
