TheDimension Mirror[1] is a powerful artifact found inKirby & The Amazing Mirror, and also makes an appearance inKirby: Triple Deluxe. The Dimension Mirror acts as a gateway between theMirror World andDream Land, and is located within theCentral Circle ofRainbow Route duringKirby & The Amazing Mirror, and inRoyal Road duringKirby: Triple Deluxe. The mirror is adorned with a luxurious golden frame with wing and crown insignia.
InKirby & The Amazing Mirror, the Mirror World is corrupted byDark Mind, and subsequently the mirrors can only reflect bad things. In the process, it creates dark reflections ofMeta Knight andKirby — namedDark Meta Knight andShadow Kirby. When Meta Knight flies up to help, he is sealed within the mirror in the Central Circle by his dark mirror copy, who then shatters the mirror into eight shards and scatters them throughout the Mirror World. It is up to Kirby and his recently-created clones to obtain the shards and restore the mirror so they can face down Dark Mind and save the Mirror World.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror[edit]
- Main article:Dimension Mirror (level)
The Dimension Mirror is the tenth and final level inKirby & The Amazing Mirror. It is unlocked when Kirby collects all of the Mirror Shards from defeating theBosses in each level of the game. When all the shards have been collected, the mirror-shaped portal, which was deactivated whenDark Meta Knight split the mirror into shards, will turn gold once again. At this point, the Central Circle's Dimension Mirror has been restored, allowing the four Kirbys to face Dark Meta Knight and vanquishDark Mind. This area only contains the Dark Meta Knight and Dark Mind fights, as well as some regular rooms in between, which themselves contain copies of the Dimension Mirror.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]

At the end ofDededetour,King Dedede encounters the Dimension Mirror after defeatingQueen Sectonia DX. Out of the mirror comes a dark reflection of himself known asShadow Dedede which he must fight. Upon Shadow Dedede's defeat, the genuine Dedede jumps into the mirror to find the same eerie area featured inKirby & The Amazing Mirror. Here, he must face down againstDark Meta Knight's Revenge, who was sealed within the mirror inside the Mirror World. After defeating him, Dedede reseals him into the mirror and then smashes it to pieces, completing the game.
It is revealed throughMiiverse posts that, prior to the events ofKirby: Triple Deluxe,Taranza had obtained the mirror and brought it toQueen Sectonia as a gift. Unaware of the mirror's dark power, the queen stared into it continuously, growing more and more mentally warped until she became the mad tyrant seen in the game proper.
The mirror has been subtly redesigned for this game, with its most noticeable difference being a more elaborate frame along its top and bottom borders, as well as larger decorative stars. The redesign gives the mirror a subtle resemblance to Queen Sectonia's crown and antennae.
The Dimension Mirror also appears as a rareKeychain, which can be collected inWild World - Stage 2.
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse[edit]
In this game, the Dimension Mirror appears as an icon in theMusic Room that represents theKirby & The Amazing Mirror music tracks.
Kirby Star Allies[edit]
The Dimension Mirror appears in the "The Great Labyrinth Battle" and "Rockabilly And Blues"Celebration Pictures. Notably, in the latter one,Queen Sectonia in her original form can be seen inside it.
Ambiguity[edit]
It appears that there are multiple Dimension Mirrors—the mirror above Dream Land and the mirror within the Central Circle seem to be separate, and many identical mirrors can be seen in theDimension Mirror level—but official English material has only ever described a singular mirror. Due to howgrammatical number works in Japanese, it is also unclear in most cases if official material is talking about one singular Dimension Mirror or multiple.
In theKirby novel series[edit]

In theKirby novel series, the Dimension Mirror takes a central role inKirby's Labyrinth Rescue!. In this novel, the Dimension Mirror can grant the one who has it their wishes and desires, andMagolor wants to use this power for himself. He comes toFloralia to steal the Dimension Mirror, which resides inQueen Sectonia's room. He tricksTaranza to get near it and attempts to take it, but Taranza fights him back. When Taranza calls for help, the Dimension Mirror grunts his desire by swallowing him into theMirror World and by sealing itself within the labyrinth. The mirror becomes a husk and loses its power and glow, making it useless to Magolor unless he comes inside and finds the real mirror within.
Magolor comes with the husk of the Dimension Mirror toKirby and his friends to ask for help, pretending the search is about finding his supposed friend in the labyrinth of the mirror. Kirby, who cannot find his reflection in the mirror, touches it and gets swallowed into the Mirror World. The others follow him too by jumping in and begin their search.
Later in the story, the group finds Taranza in the innermost part of the labyrinth with the real Dimension Mirror. Taranza gazes into the mirror in a trance, seeing hallucinations of Queen Sectonia from the days before she became evil. Since they worry that Taranza might become possessed by the mirror, Kirby andMeta Knight come to smash it, to the dismay of Magolor. They fight Taranza who tries to stop them while Magolor sneakily steals the mirror and attempts to flee. Taranza catches him but Magolor convinces him that he was only trying to protect the mirror from the others. While Taranza is defeated, Magolor steals the mirror and wishes to be stronger. The Dimension Mirror grants his wish by transforming him into an enormous size. As Kirby defeats him, he drops the mirror and returns to his original size. Taranza tries to touch the mirror again, but Meta Knight stops him, telling him that the Sectonia he sees is only an illusion made for his desire. Taranza tells him that he heard her laugh in the mirror and calling him but eventually accepts the truth. As he walks away, he hears her voice saying goodbye to him one last time. Kirby hears Queen Sectonia's voice too, leaving him to wonder if it is truly an illusion or if her spirit resides deep in the Dimension Mirror.
