Deppa[derived from Japanese] is alarge enemy fromAnother Dimension encountered inKirby's Return to Dream Land and its remake,Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. It is only encountered inAnother Dimension and in the newMagolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler extra mode in the remake, alongside its counterparts, theDarpas,Dippas, andDupas.
Deppa is the largest of its brethren. It is a big reddish-purple landmine-shaped creature with three small feathers on its head, arranged in a crest shape. It wields an angry expression from its yellow eyes, a characteristic shared with higher-rankingSphere Doomers.
This enemy is the strongest out of its group, and it is also the rarest one encountered. It has the ability to fire projectiles like theDippa, but they only quickly travel in a straight line. These projectiles can damageKirby and his friends if they make contact with one. These bullets can also be shot down to avoid getting hit. The Deppa always stays on the right side of the screen so it can fire projectiles. When it is defeated, it will shoot four spikes in right diagonals as a last resort. These, too, can be destroyed. Deppa also has the highesthealth of its group, so it can be a bit of trouble.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby's Return to Dream Land /Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]
Deppa is introduced inKirby's Return to Dream Land as an enemy solely found inAnother Dimension, only present in segments of the level that are not boss fights. InKirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Deppas make very uncommon appearances throughoutMagolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler, only appearing in tworegularstages. Despite such, this still marks the first time any player is able to interact with them without riding onLandia.
In the boss battle against theMaster Crown, Deppas can be summoned through dimensional rifts created by the crown itself, and are souped up in terms of health. Because of this, said boss battle inThe True Arena is also the only time Kirby is able to encounter Deppas on foot, and it is revealed there that they are classified aslarge enemies as they require using aSuper Inhale to swallow.
