Dedede Clone is aboss fought inKirby: Planet Robobot, appearing as the boss ofRhythm Route and is also fought inThe Arena. It was created by theHaltmann Works Company usingKing Dedede's DNA, and filled with an urge to destroyKirby.

Dedede Clone first appears at the end of theRhythm Route, appearing as a small purple blob inside a test tube held bySusie. Susie introduces it to Kirby, giving it the full designationModel #D-0030 Dedede Clone. She unleashes the clone from its test tube and gets away using her transporter, leaving the clone to deal with Kirby.

In phase 1, the clone always starts with these attacks:
- Super Inhale
- Head Slide
- Head Slide
- Hammer Slam
- Super Dedede Jump

- Hammer Slam
- Hover
- Super Inhale
Afterwards, it attacks in a completely random order consisting of the above moves.
When the Dedede Clone is knocked down to half health, it momentarily turns back into goo, then reforms into three smaller Dedede clones. After their Hammer Farmer attack, all three clones attack independently of each other, though only two of them at most can attack at once. These clones can be individually stunned, turning back into goo for a short time. After recovering, they Super Dedede Jump back into the foreground. Each time the Dedede Clones are knocked into blobs, they shrink in size, until they are roughly the same size as Kirby.

Once Dedede Clone is defeated, it collapses into three individual goo puddles. As the platform they were standing on then reaches the top of the building, a large mech bearing Dedede's colors appears from the hatch in the center, and the clones hop on it, leading into theDedede Clones & D3 battle (the details of that fight are on their own separate page).

Dedede Clone 2.0 sports a pale yellow coloration, and appears inMeta Knightmare Returns, as well asThe True Arena. While it possesses the same attacks of the original version, it now has the ability to fire energy blasts from its hammer.

- LikeMecha Knight, Dedede Clone's model number is a Japanese pun: D-0030 can be read as "King Dedede" in Japanese.
- D = Dedede
- 00 (Ō) + 3 (sa) + 0 (ma) =Ōsama (King)
- The hammer that Dedede Clone uses has theHaltmann Works Company symbol on it, instead of the star visible on King Dedede's hammer.
- While most of the foreign Special Page descriptions of Dedede Clone 2.0 imply that the Haltmann Works Company couldn't clone Dedede's soul, the Japanese and Korean descriptions specify that they "gave up on cloning his heart." They further imply that the flaws in the trial models were due to Dedede's heart, which caused them to become "imperfect soldiers"; thus, the company stopped attempting to clone it.[1][2]
- The Japanese and Korean versions of the "Unreal King" cutscene prior to the battle have Susie refer to the clone as a "dangerous, deadly, deluxe clone monster,"[3][4] making the connection to King Dedede obvious. All the other foreign versions instead have Susie describe the clone as a "ruthless[,] driven [...] clone of royal proportions", which indirectly hints at King Dedede in much the same way.
- InKirby Battle Royale,Dedede's Cake Royale is described by the king in a similar manner: "dangerous" and "deluxe", though "deadly" is swapped out for "delicious".
