Dedede Arena

Dedede Arena is aBattle Stage that appears in all threeKirby Fighters games. It is based onKing Dedede's boss fight arena fromSpring Breeze inKirby Super Star Ultra, though some liberties are taken with the layout.
Layout[edit]
Dedede Arena features a wide box-shaped depression in the middle of the stage with athin floor spanning over it, on level with the raised ledges to the left and right. At regular intervals,King Dedede appears in order to harass the fighters by throwing objects at them and jumping around the stage (he is slightly larger than the playable King Dedede). The following lists the damage values for all of King Dedede's attacks in this stage:
- Colliding with King Dedede deals 16 damage.
- He tossesGordos that deal 10 damage and bounce across the stage.
- He tossesWaddle Dees that deal 12 damage on impact and can be defeated.
- He tosses anapple that deals 16 damage and can be batted away.
- He tosses a blue oil drum that deals 16 damage on impact and can be batted away.
- He tosses his hammer, which deals 24 damage on impact and can be batted away.
King Dedede can be attacked, but he cannot be defeated.
The aesthetic of the stage is that of a packed boxing ring, taking its cue from the boss fight against King Dedede inSpring Breeze inKirby Super Star Ultra. The visuals are updated to a general 3D appearance, but the audience still consists of flat sprites taken from the source game.
InKirby Fighters 2, it is possible to toggle on or off the hazards for this stage in regular battles. When hazards are off, King Dedede will not appear as a stage hazard.
Unlock requirements[edit]
InKirby Fighters 2, Dedede Arena is unlocked upon attainingFighters Rank level 29. The secret song for the stage is unlocked at a Fighters Rank of 97.

Dedede Arena is based on the boss fight against King Dedede at the end ofSpring Breeze inKirby Super Star andKirby Super Star Ultra, which takes place in a crowded boxing ring. This in turn is based on a similar fight that takes place at the end ofKirby's Dream Land.
