Curling is aFriend Ability inKirby Star Allies. With this ability,Kirby can transform into a curling stone to slide across the ground or water. It can be used to poundstakes sticking out of walls, but not those on the floor.Rocky,Rick, andGooey can also turn into Curling stones.

While Kirby or an ally is in stone form, a friend with theWater,Ice, orCleaning abilities can use an ability attack on the Stone user to transform them into the Curling stone. It comes in three distinct forms depending on what element is used to activate it. Using Splash attacks from abilities likeWater will causeSplash Curling, which causes the stone to fly forward while spraying its surroundings with water. The second, known asIce Curling, functions similarly toStone-Ice fromKirby 64: The Crystal Shards, though it creates a frozen surface as it travels. The third isClean Curling, made by using Bluster attacks fromCleaning to cause the stone to fly forward at high speed with wind effect. Aside from the effect, Clean Curling also falls more slowly in the air than the other two.
