ACopy drop gate[Japanese title] is a pair of special gateways with an energy barrier inset, which appear inKirby: Triple Deluxe. IfKirby enters through this barrier, anyCopy Ability he has will be forcibly removed, and theAbility Star will be warped away. These gates appear as dividers outside of areas withTruth Mirrors. If Kirby then passes back through the same gate, or passes the gate on the other side, the lost ability will reappear as aCopy Essence just beyond. Essentially, these gates serve as a restrictive checkpoint, forcing Kirby to pass through the area under their jurisdiction without an ability.

If Kirby initially enters through a gate without an ability, he will still be "checked", but nothing will happen.King Dedede is similarly checked when passing through a gate inDededetour, but nothing happens to him either. If Kirby is defeated inside the area between two gates, any ability taken will not be returned to him when exiting from either side.

Trivia[edit]

  • If the game is hacked to give KirbyHypernova, it will not be removed from him if he passes through the gate.[1]
