This article is about the hazard in various Kirby games. For the object inKirby and the Forgotten Land, seeKnock-Knock Nut.

Acoconut[1] is ahazard introduced inKirby's Dream Land. It is based on an actualcoconut and is spherical with a thick line in the middle. Its color is mostly brown, with some green patches. Coconuts are immobile, usually found hanging from trees. If Kirby walks underneath a tree with a coconut hanging from it, the coconut will fall down, exploding when it reaches the ground or if it comes in contact with Kirby. Coconuts can be blocked if Kirby has theParasolability. They can also be inhaled (though granting no ability when swallowed) or destroyed with any attack. Apart from being found in set locations, coconuts also appear withBonkers, almost always being thrown by him, even in games where they are otherwise absent.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby's Dream Land[edit]

Coconuts make their first appearance inKirby's Dream Land. Here, they appear only in theFloat Islands stage and the Float Islands portion ofMt. DeDeDe. They are worth 100 points when defeated, and are not replaced by anything in theExtra Game.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land /Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]

An extra large coconut fromKirby's Return to Dream Land.

InKirby's Return to Dream Land, coconuts are very rare, only appearing in thefirst stage of Onion Ocean. Among these are large coconuts which require a Super Inhale to eat and make big explosions when they drop or are attacked.Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe also uses them in thefourth stage of the Poseiblu Dimension in theMagolor Epilogue, which is an altered version of the aforementioned Onion Ocean stage.

Other appearances[edit]

As mentioned earlier,Bonkers throws coconuts as part of his regular arsenal of attacks when fought as a mid-boss, so coconuts do make appearances in every game that Bonkers does, albeit not necessarily as enemies. This means the following games feature coconuts by virtue of featuring Bonkers:

Additionally, inKirby: Squeak Squad,Cret can also spawn coconuts. InKirby Mass Attack,Waddle Dees can also be seen tossing coconuts;Bronto Burts also attack by spitting coconuts in the sub-gameStrato Patrol EOS. InKirby and the Forgotten Land, coconuts are dropped byTropic Woods;Wild Bonkers throws spiky durians instead.
