Chaos Elfilis is asecret boss inKirby and the Forgotten Land, encountered exclusively at theColosseum. It is a variant ofFecto Elfilis, and can be considered a stronger version of them. Despite not having the suffix "soul", Chaos Elfilis shares many similarities with othersoul bosses. It is an amalgamation of all the soulsMorpho Knight and Fecto Elfilis have absorbed in the past,[2] including theBeast Pack, countless other species, andSoul Forgo and Morpho Knight themselves. Its color scheme is reminiscent of, with some elements being drawn from Morpho Knight (particularly on its spear, Antares).

Chaos Elfilis has two distinct forms. The first resembles Fecto Elfilis and fights in a similar manner, though with new and much stronger attacks. Much like Fecto Elfilis in the main story, once Chaos Elfilis is at low enough health, it is knocked down and an orb of energy appears on its back, though instead of containingElfilin, it seems to be opaque. When Kirby separates it usingDome Mouth, it reveals itself as the second "soul" form of Chaos Elfilis. From here, the leftover body transforms into balls of flesh that orbit the central soul orb, and these balls can be inhaled and spat at Chaos Elfilis to damage it in this phase. In this second form, it has many attacks that are similar to preceding soul bosses.

After Chaos Elfilis' second form is defeated, it will enter a series of death throes vaguely resembling those ofDark Matter Clone andSectonia Clone, with figures such as aGnawcodile seen thrashing in the blinding light preceding their surrender. Chaos Elfilis'figure flavor text mentions that the last bits of its life, which is visually shown to be a tiny speck of light, returned to Elfilin after its defeat, which is what is seen happening in the cutscene that plays at that point.

Attacks[edit]

The following are Chaos Elfilis' attacks. All attack names listed come from theKirby and the Forgotten Land Perfect Support Guide unless otherwise noted:

Kirby and the Forgotten Land[edit]

A unique convergence of elements, from native-beast souls to ethereal butterfly, gave a stubborn soul one last chance at revenge. This new creation, driven by pure chaos, was defeated by the bright light of Kirby's hope. The last bit of life that remained willingly returned to Elfilin. At last, two became one.
— Figure description fromKirby and the Forgotten Land

Chaos Elfilis is titledSpecies Born of Chaos here, and encountered exclusively at the end of The Ultimate Cup Z in theColosseum, serving as the final boss of that mode.

Phase 1[edit]

The first form has 3400 HP (Star Bullet=80). It enters the second half when its HP is below 40%, and it takes 0.8Xdamage during the whole second half.[3]

Chaos Elfilis's attacks - Phase 1 (The Ultimate Cup Z)
AttackDescriptionVariantsNotes
空間転移能力
Spatial Teleportation Ability
Chaos Elfilis teleports to different locations. It often teleports during certain attacks to throw Kirby off.
ムーン
Moon
Chaos Elfilis swings its spear two, three or four times in front of itself. This attack can be used in combination with "Orbital Pulsar" or "Cumulative Pulsar." This attack is always the first to come out, with a quick teleport before unleashing the first two strikes.Chaos Elfilis may teleport before releasing its strikes.
フルムーン
Full Moon
Chaos Elfilis spins around in a circle with its spear out, causing mini shockwaves to appear around it. Often used as a finisher after several instances of "Moon".
ハーフムーン
Half Moon
Chaos Elfilis charges its spear tip, then throws two or three big crescent shots at Kirby which leave behind Dropped Stars in their wake. If three crescent shots are thrown, this will immediately be followed up with a "Geo Storm" attack. This attack's name references弦月斬Crescent Moon Slash,Morpho Knight's variation of Meta Knight's Crescent Shot.
ジオ・ストーム
Geo Storm
Chaos Elfilis strikes the ground with its spear, releasing flaming tornadoes similar to those ofMorpho Knight's that spiral outward quickly. This attack is only used after three instances of the "Half Moon" attack.Ageomagnetic storm is an event where disturbances in the Sun's corona release solar winds, resulting in significant turbulence in Earth's magnetic field.
アンタレス・メテオ
Antares Meteor
Chaos Elfilis strikes the ground with its spear from a distance, causing a medium-sized shockwave around it and producing six Dropped Stars.Antares is the brightest star found in the Scorpius constellation. It's also the name of the spear Chaos Elfilis wields.[4]
軌道性パルサー
Orbital Pulsar
Chaos Elfilis either flies to the horizon or to the center of the battlefield and creates several spear-shaped projectiles, and the phantom spears are launched towards Kirby one by one. There are three possible patterns to the spears. The first is an overhead pattern, the second is an underfoot pattern, and the third is a combination of the two.Pulsars are neutron stars that emit beams of electromagnetic radiation from their magnetic poles.
集積性パルサー
Cumulative Pulsar
Chaos Elfilis causes a ring of spear-shaped projectiles to appear around Kirby and track him for a moment. After a while, they stop and then fly inward, leaving a ring ofDropped Stars in their wake.
ローゼンブリッジ・エッジ
Rosen Bridge Edge
Chaos Elfilis aims its spear straight, charges, and then dashes forward into a rift. It then emerges several times from subsequent rifts, charging at Kirby with each pass, finishing by creating a long line of Dropped Stars."Einstein-Rosen bridge" is sometimes used to refer to a specific kind of hypothesized wormhole.
カイパーベルト・ウェーブ
Kuiper Belt Wave
Chaos Elfilis opens a series of rifts and strikes the ground multiple times through them with its spear, causing medium-sized shockwaves to spread outward. It does this twice, on each side of the arena.TheKuiper belt is a giant accretion disc beyondNeptune, home to a complex population of asteroids and dwarf planets.
アンタレス・ベルト
Antares Belt
Chaos Elfilis rushes towards Kirby with its spear head facing downwards, causing a momentary alteration to the battlefield. Compared to Fecto Elfilis' equivalent attack, Chaos Elfilis strikes the ground much, much faster.
ソル
Sol
Chaos Elfilis flies high up and charges energy through its horns before unleashing a powerful beam that follows Kirby's movements. If Kirby steps on the glowing ground that the beam just passed over, he will be burned and take a little damage, but will not flinch.[5] If Kirby makes contact with the beam itself, he will be trapped and take massive damage. The beam attack ends with a blast that creates a ring of Dropped Stars."Sol" means "sun" in various languages, most notably Latin and its descendants. It is also used to refer to a "solar day" on another planet; aMars sol, for example, is about 40 minutes longer than a day on Earth.
Second half only
ジャイアント・インパクト
Giant-Impact
Chaos Elfilis creates a giant phantom duplicate of itself which swings its massive spear across the arena, creating a wave of debris in the process. Chaos Elfilis throws a set of light spears at Kirby during these attacks from afar. This attack is always the first to come out after its HP depletes to 40% or less.Thegiant-impact hypothesis refers to a possible theory on the formation of the Moon, which suggests that a collision occurred betweenproto-Earth and a Mars-sized planet, likely from theL4 or L5 Lagrange points of the Earth's orbit, namedTheia, approximately 4.5 billion years ago, and the ejected particles from the impact later accumulated to form the Moon.
ゲノムリペアーズ
Genome Repairs
Chaos Elfilis guards and makes copies of itself, adding a secondary blue health bar. In order to deplete the blue health bar (usually 600 HP), Kirby must attack the real version to deplete the blue health before the blue laser ring closes in on it. Any blue health remaining at the end of this move will be added to Chaos Elfilis' normal health bar. If Kirby manages to deplete all of the extra health, Chaos Elfilis will be momentarily stunned and lose 200 HP. The real Chaos Elfilis has a shadow underneath itself shortly after it duplicates. Defense values change from 1.0X to 3.0X depending on how long the attack has lasted since activation.Genomes contain all of the genetic information present within a life-form.
メーザー・III
Maser III
Chaos Elfilis flies high up and charges its spear before unleashing a powerful beam into a rift. More rifts then open up that release the laser beam in a wave that slowly sweeps across the arena, with the last pass releasing Dropped Stars upon dissipating."Maser" is an acronym for "microwave amplification by stimulated emission of radiation" and is a longer-wavelength counterpart to the optical-wavelength laser ("light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation").Naturally occurring masers originate from a range of astrophysical environments rich in complex molecules, predominantly star-forming regions. The combination of "III" (3) and "X" (10) may be intended as "30", referencingThe Dream Discoveries Tour (and alsoKirby's 30th anniversary by extension).
メーザー・X
Maser X
Chaos Elfilis flies high up and charges its spear before unleashing a powerful beam into a rift. More rifts then open up in cross patterns that fire the laser beams perpendicular to each other in various positions, with the last pass releasing Dropped Stars upon dissipating.
シューメーカーレヴィズ
Shoemaker Levys
Chaos Elfilis opens a huge star-shaped dimensional rift in the sky, and six meteors fall towards the ground, which Kirby has to dodge. Each meteor creates a shockwave upon landing.Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 was a comet that crashed into Jupiter in 1994. By the time of impact, Jupiter had already disrupted the comet and torn it into over twenty fragments, as prior approaches had the comet passing within Jupiter's Roche limit.

Chaos Elfilis attacks in a random order for the first phase, though certain attacks will always come out at predetermined intervals.

Phase 2[edit]

The second form has 3000 HP. It will begin using "Deadly Sun Grazer" when its HP is 70% or below.[3] If its HP is still above 70% during the start of the "Double Double Star" attack, it will finish using it a total of three times before "Deadly Sun Grazer".

Unlike most bosses, the second form's HP is not locked, so if sufficient damage is made, "Deadly Sun Grazer" and anything afterwards can be skipped entirely.

"Eternal Echo of the Thrilling Tour-our-our" plays at the start of the second phase. Once Chaos Elfilis reaches 70% health or less, the music switches to the second half of "Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit" for the rest of the battle.

Chaos Elfilis's attacks - Phase 2 (The Ultimate Cup Z)
AttackDescriptionVariantsNotes
ソレデハご覧ください
And Here We Are
Chaos Elfilis turns into a black hole, drawing Kirby in. If Kirby is captured, he will lose his Copy Ability (if he has one on hand) before being taken to a black void and damaged greatly before being spat out again. Like most instances of the Black Hole in other games, the attack cannot beguarded. Unlike in other games, after the attack draws to a close, it's possible for Kirby to recover his Copy Ability. Chaos Elfilis always starts this phase with this attack.Named after the voice clip that plays right before the attack goes off for the first time.
ダブル・ダブルスター
Double Double Star
Chaos Elfilis positions its orbs into two distinct spots, then shoots two laser pulses out of them toward Kirby's current position, creating a small blast and creating Dropped Stars. This attack produces 5 Dropped Stars for each beam.Above 70% health, after firing three lasers, Chaos Elfilis will use three more lasers in quick succession, without any breaks in-between. Below 70% health, Chaos Elfilis will teleport to a different location before firing each beam. If enough orbs are destroyed beforehand, either only one laser will fire or the attack will fail altogether.Adouble star consists of a pair of stars that appear to be close to each other when viewed from Earth. The attack is specifically named afterEpsilon Lyrae, also known as the "Double Double."
ブレーザーカッター
Blazar Cutter
Chaos Elfilis teleports to specific spots around the arena, and shoots out six red cutter blades laterally. These can be swallowed for theCutter ability. It uses this attack three times initially and four times when at 70% health or lower, in both instances doing the last two in quick succession.Blazars are a type of galaxy powered by a humongous black hole and are among the brightest objects in the sky.
プラネタリウム・ドリームツアー
Planetarium Dream Tour
Chaos Elfilis arranges its orbs in a ring, and then starts shooting lasers out of them as it spins them around itself. Kirby can disarm these lasers by inhaling or attacking the orbs that are firing them. If enough orbs are struck or inhaled during this attack, the attack will end early. The name is based off of the Japanese title ofThe Dream Discoveries Tour andplanetariums, which are theaters that present educational films about astronomy.
Second half only
デッドリーサン・グレーザー
Deadly Sun Grazer
Chaos Elfilis turns into a giant flaming meteor and then passes overhead, slamming into a hunk of floating debris. The debris falls onto the arena and creates steps which Kirby needs to use to avoid the subsequent charge attack. This attack happens two times. The charge attack cannot beguarded ordodged. Later instances of this attack skip the initial part where Chaos Elfilis flies into the debris. The name originates from the sungrazing comets that zoom by extremely close to the Sun.
スプラッシュロッシュ
Splash Roche
Chaos Elfilis splits into several smaller pieces and then rains down on Kirby as a rapid hailstorm. This attack deals a lot ofdamage to Kirby's guard.Named after theRoche limit, much like the music track.
インパクトポンド
Impact Pound
Chaos Elfilis starts bouncing around in the background, and then jumps high into the air, slamming into the arena and creating a giant shockwave with lightning bolts pulsing through it. This attack is used three times in a row, with more lightning bolts emanating from the shockwave during the third bounce. While the first two bounces are somewhat random, the third bounce will always be in the middle of where the previous two landed.Much like with the "Giant-Impact" move in phase 1, this attack is also named after the giant-impact hypothesis.

At the start of the second phase of the battle, Chaos Elfilis initially starts with "And Here We Are" before attacking in this fixed order on loop as follows:

  1. Double Double Star
  2. Double Double Star [three lasers in a row]
  3. Blazar Cutter
  4. Planetarium Dream Tour

When its HP gets below 70%, it will first finish its current attack before abruptly switching to "Deadly Sun Grazer". Once done, it attacks in a fixed order on loop as follows:

  1. Splash Roche
  2. Impact Pound
  3. Planetarium Dream Tour
  4. Blazar Cutter
  5. Double Double Star
  6. And Here We Are
  7. Deadly Sun Grazer
  8. Planetarium Dream Tour

Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World[edit]

Chaos Elfilis's splash screen in the The Ultimate Cup Z EX.
Two spears, Antares and Ares. Elfilis, the invasive species that traveled to this planet, forged one by absorbing materials to become complete. By grasping the other crystal spear Meteonelfilis left behind, they were able to gain the power of the Starries and become the ultimate Lord of Chaos.

InKirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World, in addition to reprising its role in The Ultimate Cup Z, Chaos Elfilis is also fought at the end of The Ultimate Cup Z EX, titledLord of Chaos. Under these circumstances, Chaos Elfilis wieldsGenwel Meteonelfilis's spear, Ares, and unleashes more powerful attacks. It has attacks unique to the cup, as well as some attacks that are upgrades to existing ones.

All attack names listed below are conjectural or derived from The Ultimate Cup Z attack names listed in theKirby and the Forgotten Land Perfect Support Guide.

Phase 1[edit]

The crystals used in several of the following attacks function similarly to the ones seen in Genwel Meteonelfilis's battle.

Chaos Elfilis's attacks - Phase 1 (The Ultimate Cup Z EX)
AttackDescriptionVariantsNotes
空間転移能力
Spatial Teleportation Ability
Chaos Elfilis teleports to different locations. It often teleports during certain attacks to throw Kirby off.
Crystal LaunchChaos Elfilis launches its four crystals at Kirby. While this is happening, Chaos Elfilis performs either "Orbital Pulsar", "Cumulative Pulsar" or "Kupier Belt Wave".This is always the first attack to be used by Chaos Elfilis.
軌道性パルサー
Orbital Pulsar
Chaos Elfilis either flies to the horizon or to the center of the battlefield and creates several spear-shaped projectiles, and the phantom spears are launched towards Kirby one by one. Before the attack or after it, it may fire its four crystals at Kirby's current location. There are three possible patterns to the spears. The first is an overhead pattern, the second is an underfoot pattern, and the third is a combination of the two.
ムーン
Moon
Chaos Elfilis swings its spear two, three or four times in front of itself. If it isn't followed up with a "Full Moon", it then launches its crystals at Kirby's current location. As soon as the crystals hit the ground, they leave behind damaging spikes behind that eventually disappear.Chaos Elfilis may make use of its Spatial Teleportation Ability before releasing its strikes.
集積性パルサー
Cumulative Pulsar
On ground level or off to the horizon, Chaos Elfilis causes a ring of spear-shaped projectiles to appear around Kirby and track him for a moment. After a while, they stop and then fly inward, leaving a ring ofDropped Stars in their wake. Before the attack or after it, it may fire its four crystals at Kirby's current location.
フルムーン
Full Moon
Chaos Elfilis spins around in a circle with its spear out, causing mini shockwaves to appear around it. Often used as a finisher after several instances of "Moon" or after a "Green Flash"; afterwards, Chaos Elfilis launches its crystals at Kirby's current location. As soon as the crystals hit the ground, they leave behind damaging spikes behind that eventually disappear.
ハーフムーン
Half Moon
Chaos Elfilis charges its spear tip, then throws big crescent shots at Kirby which leave behind Dropped Stars in their wake before launching its crystals towards Kirby's most recent location. As soon as the crystals hit the ground, they leave behind damaging spikes behind that eventually disappear. In the first half, two crescent shots are fired. In the second half, three or four can be fired. If four crescent shots are thrown, this will immediately be followed up with a "Geo Storm" attack.
アンタレス・ベルト
Antares Belt
Chaos Elfilis copies its spear twice and rushes towards Kirby with its spear heads facing downwards, causing a momentary alteration to the battlefield. This attack is only done once, in contrast to the same attack in The Ultimate Cup Z, and leaves sharp crystals instead of a burn.
アンタレス・メテオ
Antares Meteor
Chaos Elfilis strikes the ground with its spear from a distance, causing a medium-sized shockwave around it and producing six Dropped Stars. This attack is always performed after "Antares Belt".
Moving MasersChaos Elfilis flies high up and charges its spear before unleashing a powerful beam into a rift. The attack is split into three waves, with four rifts appearing every wave, firing two lasers. In the first wave, the lasers are perpendicular to each other, with one laser starting from one edge and the other starting from another, both moving to the edge on their other side; in the second wave, the lasers are parallel to each other, both moving in the direction perpendicular to the direction they are facing. The pattern might work instead by having the first wave spawn two lasers from the edges that close in, followed by the second wave spawning two lasers from the middle and moving outwards. No matter what, in the third wave, the lasers appear in a cross, rotating either clockwise or counter-clockwise, releasing Dropped Stars upon dissipating.
Crystal SummonChaos Elfilis raises its spear up high, summoning a series of damaging crystals. While the damaging crystals are out, Chaos Elfilis launches its four primary crystals to Kirby's current location twice in a row before performing either "Orbital Pulsar" or "Cumulative Pulsar". Each damaging crystal on the ground will eventually shatter after a few moments, leaving behind Dropped Stars.
グリーンフラッシュ
Green Flash
Chaos Elfilis aims its spear straight, charges, and then dashes forward before finishing with a "Full Moon" attack. As soon as it finishes its "Full Moon", Chaos Elfilis launches its crystals at Kirby's current location. As soon as the crystals hit the ground, they leave behind damaging spikes behind that eventually disappear.
ローゼンブリッジ・エッジ
Rosen Bridge Edge
Chaos Elfilis aims its spear straight, charges, and then dashes forward into a rift. It then emerges several times from subsequent rifts, charging at Kirby with each pass, finishing by creating a long line of Dropped Stars.
カイパーベルト・ウェーブ
Kuiper Belt Wave
Chaos Elfilis fires its four crystals at Kirby's current location, as it opens a small star-shaped dimension rift on the ground and five larger rifts around the arena before it pierces its spear through, causing shockwaves to spread across the battlefield. Each spear that hits the ground also produces big damaging crystals that eventually shatter after a few moments, leaving behind Dropped Stars. The second half changes the pattern to lines of five rifts; first on one side of Kirby, then another on the opposite side.
Second half only
Crystal RiftChaos Elfilis creates three waves of multiple rifts that shoot out large crystals. Some crystals might be directed towards Kirby's position when they come out of the rifts. The first two waves always have 10 crystals, while the final wave always has 12 crystals. Contact with any of these crystals forcibly drops Kirby's current copy ability if applicable before paralyzing him inside. If another of Chaos Elfilis' attacks doesn't break him out, then the player has to repeatedly mash directions on the Control Stick to force Kirby out. This attack always begins the second half.
ゲノムリペアーズ
Genome Repairs
Chaos Elfilis guards and makes copies of itself, adding a secondary blue health bar. In order to deplete the blue health bar, Kirby must attack the real version to deplete the blue health before the blue laser ring closes in on it. While said laser ring closes in on Chaos Elfilis, its crystals are launched at Kirby twice when attempting to heal. Any blue health remaining at the end of this move will be added to Chaos Elfilis' normal health bar. If Kirby manages to deplete all of the extra health, Chaos Elfilis will be momentarily stunned and lose some HP. The real Chaos Elfilis has a shadow underneath itself shortly after it duplicates.
フェルミパラドックス・アンサー
Fermi Paradox Answer
Chaos Elfilis launches a large meteor into the ground. After it lands, another large meteor slams into it and gets destroyed into multiple smaller chunks of debris that fall onto the battlefield. Each meteor chunk releases a Dropped Star when it hits the ground. This attack is often preceded by "Shoemaker Levys". The Spaceship NEW WORLD can be seen in some of the debris in the large meteorites.
Crystal StormChaos Elfilis strikes the ground with its spear, releasing waves of damaging crystals. Each damaging crystal on the ground at the start of the attack will eventually shatter after a few moments, leaving behind Dropped Stars. This attack is often followed up with either "Rosen Bridge Edge" or Chaos Elfilis launching its four primary crystals to Kirby's current location before doing a "Green Flash" followed up with a "Full Moon" finisher and another launch of its four primary crystals.
ジオ・ストーム
Geo Storm
Chaos Elfilis strikes the ground with its spear, releasing flaming tornadoes similar to those ofMorpho Knight's that spiral outward quickly before launching its crystals at Kirby's current location. As soon as the crystals hit the ground, they leave behind damaging spikes behind that eventually disappear. This attack is only used after four instances of the "Half Moon" attack.
ジャイアント・インパクト
Giant-Impact
Chaos Elfilis creates two giant phantom duplicates of itself which swing their massive spears across the arena four times, creating a wave of debris in the process. During these attacks, Chaos Elfilis can summon a set of damaging crystals on the ground, then performs "Orbital Pulsar" and "Cumulative Pulsar", and then summons another set of damaging crystals on the ground from afar, or it can solely perform "Orbital Pulsar" and "Cumulative Pulsar" from afar.
シューメーカーレヴィズ
Shoemaker Levys
Chaos Elfilis summons a series of damaging crystals on the ground before opening a huge star-shaped dimensional rift in the sky. Three meteors fall from the rift towards the ground, which Kirby has to dodge. Each meteor creates a shockwave upon landing. This attack is often followed up with the "Fermi Paradox Answer".

Phase 2[edit]

The orb's appearance now features deeper hues of blue and distinct rays of light radiating out of its center. Additionally, small blue crystal shards visibly orbit the orb, but are purely visual and cannot be inhaled.

"Eternally Stirring Fa-lu-wa-a Song" plays at the start of the second phase. Once Chaos Elfilis reaches approximately 70% of its health or less, the music switches to the second half of "Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit (Starry Ver.)" for the rest of the battle.

Chaos Elfilis's attacks - Phase 2 (The Ultimate Cup Z EX)
AttackDescriptionVariantsNotes
Beast Council SummonChaos Elfilis rises above the battlefield and uses its orbs to create doubles of the three members of the Beast Council and the pack's leader.Gorimondo always does the "Triple Swing Down" attack,Clawroline always does the "Hunting" attack,Sillydillo always does the "Rolling Dillo" attack, andLeongar can do "Sudden Psycho Dreamygar", "Quadrupedal Chomp" or "Psycho-Crossing Leon" into a "Psycho Howling Cannon of the Possessed Beast".The first time this attack is used, one copy of each Beast Pack member is produced. All subsequent uses produce multiple copies of Sillydillo, Clawroline and Leongar, up to two for the former, or three for the latter two.[6] In the first half, a standalone Leongar may either do "Sudden Psycho Dreamygar" or a "Psycho-Crossing Leon" into a "Psycho Howling Cannon of the Possessed Beast", while three of them may do "Quadrupdeal Chomp" at once. The second half introduces two additional variations: either only Leongar doubles will be summoned, with the first two doing the "Quadrupedal Chomp" attack, and the last doing "Sudden Psycho Dreamygar", or three Clawroline doubles spawn in doing "Hunting" before a Leongar double appears doing a "Psycho-Crossing Leon" into a "Psycho Howling Cannon of the Possessed Beast".Although all of the bosses created are red, it is assumed that the Gorimondo double is based onPhantom Gorimondo and the Leongar double based onForgo Leon, due to their attacks mirroring those bosses specifically. Aside from being harder to reach, damage dealt to Chaos Elfilis during this attack is noticeably reduced.
ダブル・ダブルスター
Double Double Star
Chaos Elfilis positions its orbs into four distinct spots. Two of them each shoot a blue laser pulse to create a crystal, and the other two each shoot a red laser pulse at the crystal, scattering the laser beams in multiple directions. This continues for a total of two or three times. In the second half, the orbs are positioned into six distinct spots before firing two red laser beams at Kirby three times and then do the scattering attack. If enough orbs are destroyed beforehand, fewer lasers will fire or the attack will fail altogether.
ソレデハご覧ください
And Here We Are
Chaos Elfilis turns into a black hole, drawing Kirby in. Once the suction stops, Chaos Elfilis moves to another location, creating multiple laser pulses in the location it moves away from. It attempts suction three times in a row with lasers firing after the first two. Any lasers that hit the ground produce Dropped Stars, though they quickly get sucked up by Chaos Elfilis shortly after appearing. If Kirby is captured, he will lose his Copy Ability (if he has one on hand) before being taken to a black void and damaged more greatly than in The Ultimate Cup Z before being spat out again (the attack will also end prematurely if it happens before the third suction). Like most instances of the Black Hole in other games, the attack cannot beguarded. Unlike in other games, after the attack draws to a close, it's possible for Kirby to recover his Copy Ability.Unlike in The Ultimate Cup Z, where the relevant voice clips are baked into "Eternal Echo of the Thrilling Tour-our-our" for the first half and are locked into matching the player's system language, in The Ultimate Cup Z EX, the voice clips that play are not only multilingual regardless of the system language but are also considered separate sound effects. As a result, the voice lines can still be heard on top of the background music if used in the second half of the battle.[7]
ブレーザーカッター
Blazar Cutter
Chaos Elfilis teleports to specific spots around the arena, and shoots out red cutter blades laterally while moving around, similar toVoid's "Shooter Cutter" attack. The cutter blades can be swallowed for theCutter ability. Twice in a row, Chaos Elfilis teleports three times before moving vertically, horizontally or diagonally and then repeats in another orientation. Finally, another teleport leads into Chaos Elfilis moving in a full circle clockwise or counter-clockwise while rapidly shooting cutter blades. In the second half, Chaos Elfilis starts by firing a blue laser beam that leaves damaging crystals on the ground before surrounding Kirby in a circular crystal barricade. Once done, Chaos Elfilis fires two sets of four cutter blades that ricochet off of the crystals akin to Kirby'sBuzz-Saw Cutter ability. After a while, the crystals boxing Kirby in disappear, causing the attack to end.
プラネタリウム・ドリームツアー
Planetarium Dream Tour
Chaos Elfilis arranges its orbs beneath itself, and then the orbs fire two sets of lasers. The first set are red lasers, while the second set are blue lasers that rotate in the opposite direction and leave behind damaging crystals on the ground. Once done, Chaos Elfilis' orbs are arranged in a ring shape, and then it starts shooting lasers out of them as it spins them around itself, doing so much faster than in The Ultimate Cup Z. Finally, Chaos Elfilis repeats the first laser wave, and the damaging crystals disappear shortly after the lasers pass. Kirby can disarm the lasers by inhaling or attacking the orbs that are firing them. If enough orbs are struck or inhaled during this attack, the attack will end early.
Second half only
Deadly SunChaos Elfilis turns into a giant flaming meteor and then passes overhead, slamming into a hunk of floating debris. The debris falls onto the arena and creates threeBig Starryflowers that create crystal pillars upon being activated. Chaos Elfilis then shines brightly, casting shadows behind the pillars and destroying any Starryflowers that weren't already activated beforehand. Kirby rapidly takes damage if he moves out of the shade for too long (~0.75 seconds), and if Kirby gets caught in the heat from start to end, it will take him out from full health in Wild Mode.[8] Trying to guard against this attack results in Kirby taking significantly more damage.[9] When Kirby stays behind a pillar, it gradually burns up and may break prematurely. Five Dropped Stars are released once a pillar is destroyed. This attack resembles the eclipse attack used byMr. Shine & Mr. Bright inKirby's Dream Land 2. Later instances of this attack skip the initial part where Chaos Elfilis flies into the debris.
Elemental SplitChaos Elfilis dims itself and the battlefield to create four eyes that orbit it three times. The cyan eyes fly above Kirby and rain down icicles. The orange eyes fly towards Kirby and burst into giant fiery blasts. The yellow eyes fly up and fire lasers in spirals that leave a paralyzing trail. During this attack, Kirby's damage to Chaos Elfilis is dramatically reduced, but the eyes can be defeated to deal damage to Chaos Elfilis or inhaled and swallowed to gain theIce,Fire orRanger abilities.Later in the fight, it may summon six eyes in two waves instead, and mixes multiple eye colors together in the second wave. Either the first wave spawns six cyan eyes and then the second wave spawns four orange and two yellow eyes, or the first wave spawns six orange eyes and then the second wave spawns four cyan and two yellow eyes. The eyes and their respective behaviors bear a striking resemblance toPara Matters, originally used byDrawcia Soul.

Chaos Elfilis splits into several smaller pieces and then rains down on Kirby as a rapid hailstorm; the pieces change direction mid-attack two times. This attack deals a lot of damage to Kirby's guard.
インパクトポンド
Impact Pound
Chaos Elfilis starts bouncing around in the background, splitting into eight as it does. All eight duplicates jump high into the air, slamming into the arena in waves and creating giant shockwaves with fiery tornadoes moving through it; said tornadoes move either clockwise or counterclockwise. Three copies slam onto the battlefield in quick succession, then two copies do so at the same time two times, and the remaining giant copy does so once for the final one; the shockwave produced from this one has tornadoes rotating in both directions. The tornadoes cannot be dodged, and will deal damage even with dodge invulnerability.
デッドリーサン・グレーザー
Deadly Sun Grazer
Chaos Elfilis turns into a giant flaming meteor and then leaves the battlefield temporarily. Debris falls onto the arena and creates threeBig Starryflowers that create crystal stepping stones upon being activated. Kirby needs to create and use these stepping stones to avoid the subsequent charge attack. The charge attack specifically cannot beguarded ordodged.

At the start of the second phase of the battle, Chaos Elfilis initially starts with "Beast Council Summon" [one Gorimondo, one Clawroline, one Sillydillo and one Leongar using Sudden Psycho Dreamygar] before attacking in one of two fixed orders on loop as follows:

  1. Double Double Star x3
  2. And Here We Are
  3. Blazar Cutter
  4. Planetarium Dream Tour
  5. Double Double Star x2
  6. Beast Council Summon [one Gorimondo, two Sillydillos, two Clawrolines and three Leongars using Quadrupedal Chomp]

  10. Planetarium Dream Tour
  11. Double Double Star x2
  12. Beast Council Summon [one Gorimondo, two Sillydillos, two Clawrolines and three Leongars using Quadrupedal Chomp]

When its HP gets below 70%, it will first finish its current attack before abruptly switching to "Deadly Sun". Once done, it seems to be able to perform the following attacks in one of two fixed orders:

  1. Elemental Split [one group of four cyan eyes, one group of four orange eyes, one group of four yellow eyes]
  2. Splash Roche
  3. Impact Pound

Trivia[edit]

  • Along with the other attacks inherited from previous soul bosses, Chaos Elfilis' "Maser III" and "Maser X" appear to reference Magolor's "Magolor Cannon Warp" (used inhis second form and asMagolor Soul); in both cases, they fire a beam into a rift and proceed to make other rifts that transfer the beam through them.
  • A notable design difference between Fecto Elfilis and Chaos Elfilis is that Chaos Elfilis' eyes are concave (curved inward) rather than convex (curved outward). This means that, rather than following Kirby, their eyes will appear to follow the player instead. This can be seen even on theirfigure. The same optical illusion is used forStar Dream.
  • The Colosseum timer disappears during the Chaos Elfilis battle, but theAttack/Speed Boost effect counter still runs, which can be used as a rough timer of this battle.
    • According to the Attack/Boost effect counter, the Colosseum timer still runs during the part when Kirby uses Dome Mouth to separate the second form.
    • If Kirby is sucked into the black hole by the second form, the Colosseum timer will still run even though the Attack/Speed Boost effect counter will pause.
  • Currently, the first form of Chaos Elfilis in The Ultimate Cup Z is tied withthe Three Mage-Sisters (only in theirHeroes in Another Dimension battle) for the mosthealth in any single non-shoot 'em up boss battle from the main series, with 3400 HP.
    • The second form in The Ultimate Cup Z has more health than any single battle of the soul/true final bosses. However,Void (with 2000 HP) has more durability due to his dynamic, constantly changing defense, whereas the second form of Chaos Elfilis has no added defense.
    • The second form in The Ultimate Cup Z EX appears to have even more health, surpassing both the raw health and defense (during some attacks) of any single battle against soul/true final bosses.

魂沌こんとん is a pun on混沌こんとん (chaos); the word is normally spelled with the characters for "mixed" and "uncertainty", but here, the word for "mixed" (混) is replaced with the word for "soul" (魂), which are both read as こん.
The same pun is used asVoid Soul's Japanese title, which was officially translated into English as "Essence of Chaos".

魂沌 (húndùn, soul chaos) is a pun on 混沌 (hùndùn, chaos), keeping the same wordplay as the Japanese and Korean versions.

As Korean boss titles do not use hanja in the way that Japanese titles use kanji, ambiguity exists as to what exactly 성 refers to. This translation here from Korean presumes 星 (star), but it could potentially be 聖 (sacred) or 性 (essence) or even 醒 (awaken).
