Challenge 48 is the forty-eighth and final stage ofChallenge Mode inKirby and the Rainbow Curse. It is unlocked by collecting 68 GoldMedals, which requires getting Gold Medals in every otherStory Mode and Challenge Mode stage.

Overview[edit]

Challenge 48 is a Survival Challenge, divided into twelve rooms with 15 seconds per room. Room 3 features theKirby Tank, Room 6 features theKirby Submarine, and Room 9 features theKirby Rocket. The last three rooms featureWhispy Woods,The Claykken, andHooplagoon. The rooms are as follows:

Room 1
In this room, thechest is guarded by eightSpear Cottas situated on decks along the walls. This chest can be obtained pretty quickly ifKirby does not mind dodging spears.

Room 2
This room features a ring of tenBronto Knights in the middle, with a wider ring ofPoint Stars around them. Kirby will need to collect enough stars to initiate aStar Dash, and use it to defeat all the Bronto Knights to make the chest appear in the middle.

Room 3
In this room, a long line of blueBronto Burts come flying in from the right, then fly around theExplortles in the middle of the room. Kirby can shoot the Explortles to help him take out the Bronto Burts more quickly. Once all of them are defeated, the chest appears and falls on Kirby.

Room 4
In thisunderwater room, Kirby has to defeat fourBlippers and aSawgill to make the chest appear.

Room 5
This room is half-flooded, with the chest locked in the middle behind agate that can be unlocked with akey located above the water, guarded by twoDethskullks.

Room 6
In this half-flooded room, the Kirby Submarine is utilized to defeat four blue Blippers and twoDangle Sloths to make the chest appear.

Room 7
This room features a lot of cloudblocks, with the chest located to the upper-right and a largePoint Star up above Kirby's head. Using this star, Kirby can Star Dash toward the chest.

Room 8
This room has alava pool for a floor. Kirby will need to quickly move around the room and defeat the sixHot Heads to make the chest appear up in the middle on aStar Block.

Room 9
This room features lots of point stars on circular paths. The Kirby Rocket will need to be steered carefully to get all the stars, after which the chest will appear in the middle of the room.

Room 10
In this room, Kirby has to quickly defeatWhispy Woods. This can be done by collecting the stars in the air then using a Star Dash to crash into Whispy's face. This done, the chest will appear in the middle of the room.

Room 11
In this room, Kirby has to quickly defeatThe Claykken. This can be done by collecting the large Point Star and waiting for The Claykken to crash into a wall and reveal his weak point to hit with a Star Dash. This done, the chest will appear in the middle of the room.

Room 12
In this room, Kirby has to quickly defeatHooplagoon. This can be done by collecting the stars that fall from him and then breaking all four of his plates. The last metal plate can only be broken with a Star Dash. This done, the chest will appear over to the right.Each of Hooplagoon's three normal plates can be broken with a single Touch Dash.
