Kirby & The Amazing Mirror[edit]

Call for help with R, but watch for your batteries. Hold L to start over.
— Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Known mostly due to its helpful qualities inKirby & The Amazing Mirror, it is available from the start of the game. Its use is taught after completing the tutorial area. The Cell Phone is activated by pressing the L or R buttons, and its status appears on the top-left of the screen on the HUD.

Functions[edit]

Functions depend on which button the player presses. Pressing the R button callsKirby's alternative selves, but consumesbattery power. Kirby can cancel the call if the R button is pressed again, but it will still consume battery power nonetheless. After the other Kirbys arrive, Kirby himself can regain health bytouching them. Pressing and holding the L button summons a Warp Star, which brings Kirby back to theCentral Circle ofRainbow Route. Using this function does not consume any battery power, so, in-turn, it can be used when the battery power is zero. Similar to how the summoning function can be canceled, Kirby can cancel the call by releasing the L button.

Multiplayer[edit]

When playing the game with a link cable, using the cellphone with the R button causes the linked players' screens to darken, and a choice between helping the calling Kirby or not will appear by pressing the R button. This can be used to solve puzzles which the Kirbys cannot handle by themselves.

Players can borrow lives from each other when one hits aGame Over. When prompted, the borrowing player calls another player who has more thanone life and can answer or decline the request. If the request is granted, the other player can continue playing from the same room. Otherwise, they will be sent back to theCentral Circle.
