This article is about theBattle Stage. For the level inKirby's Dream Land, seeCastle Lololo.

Castle Lololo is aBattle Stage which appears in all threeKirby Fighters games. It is a triple-decked stage that features the boss duoLololo & Lalala, and takes its visual cues fromFloat Islands fromSpring Breeze inKirby Super Star Ultra.

Layout[edit]

The layout of the Castle Lololo stage consists of three levels of narrow hallways contained within a boxy room. Twothin floors on the edges of the second floor and one in the middle of the third floor allow access between the decks. At both edges of every floor are doorways which are used byLololo & Lalala to enter the stage. They always do so together at the same time, but individually come out of random doorways going either left or right until they reach the opposite door to where they started. While moving, they will push either emerald boxes,Containers, orGordos forward. The damage they deal to fighters can be summarized as follows:

  • Lololo & Lalala deal 16 damage on contact.
  • Contact with an emerald box deals 18 damage and destroys the box (the box can be destroyed with any attack).
  • Contact with a Gordo deals 32 damage.

Lololo & Lalala can be attacked, slowing them down a bit. They can be defeated when dealing subsequent damage, but they can return after a while. The aesthetic of the stage matches the graphical style of the original boss area inSpring Breeze inKirby Super Star Ultra, though that fight takes place inFloat Islands in that game rather than Castle Lololo specifically.

InKirby Fighters 2, it is possible to toggle on or off the hazards for this stage in regular battles. When hazards are off, Lololo & Lalala will not appear.

Unlock requirements[edit]

InKirby Fighters 2, Castle Lololo is unlocked upon attainingFighters Rank level 14. The secret song for the stage is unlocked at a Fighters Rank of 96.

Origin[edit]

Main article:Lololo & Lalala

The Castle Lololo stage takes its layout and aesthetic from theLololo & Lalala boss fight and area fromFloat Islands inKirby Super Star Ultra'sSpring Breeze game. This in turn originated from the boss fight fromCastle Lololo inKirby's Dream Land, though the stage takes its visual cues from the former rather than the latter.

Trivia[edit]

  • The stage select image inKirby Fighters 2 extends past the normal boundaries of the camera, showing the ends of the stage and the gray void off-screen. Because the image is cropped in-game, this is not seen on the stage select screen itself, only when extracting the game's textures.
