ACart (referred to inKirby Super Star as aTrolley, and in the game's North American instruction booklet asHandcar^[1]) is an object that Kirby can interact with inKirby Super Star andKirby Super Star Ultra. It is first encountered inThe Great Cave Offensive and is the main method of travel between the various areas in that game mode, and also appears on the planetsHotbeat andHalfmoon inMilky Way Wishes.

Kirby can hop into a cart by jumping into it. While inside, Kirby can nudge the cart forward when the player presses forward on the +Control Pad. From there, it will ride along the track or the floor on its own, and defeat any enemy it collides with along the way. While riding the cart, Kirby cannot takedamage, but he can be thrown out of the cart if it hits a wall, and he could still potentially fall with it into abottomless pit and lose a life. To jump out of the cart, Kirby merely has to jump again.

While rolling, carts are capable of poundingStakes.

In theKirby novel series[edit]

In theKirby novel series, a cart makes an appearance inKirby Meets the Squeak Squad!, where it is found in the underground area of an ancient temple. Its track leads down a long slope, eventually off a cliff intoWham Bam Gaia's room. The cart is operated by a lever on the inside that someone can easily hit with their foot by accident. The cart moves slow at first, but once it goes down a slope, it rolls down at immense speeds.

InKirby Meets the Squeak Squad!,Kirby and co. fall into the temple's underground. After Kirby gets theCircus ability and tests out its skills, he notices a mine cart nearby. He is curious where the track leads, and follows it while balancing on a ball.King Dedede,Storo,Spinni, andDoc are fascinated by it too, and they climb into the cart. King Dedede ordersWaddle Dee to get on too.Meta Knight andDaroach want them to get out, but they do not budge. Dedede accidentally kicks a lever inside, and it starts accelerating slowly. Once it reaches the slope, the cart rolls down at an intense speed with all of them in it.

As Kirby walks down the track, he notices a loud sound behind him. The mine cart approaches quickly, and Kirby runs from it as fast as his ball can carry him. The track eventually ends off a cliff, and everyone falls. The mine cart is smashed to atoms when it hits the ground, throwing everyone on board out of it. After Kirby makes sure everyone is okay, Wham Bam Gaia appears to fight them.
