It's said that a strange monster dwells within the graveyard here. Proceed with extreme caution. Anything that lurks amid bones must be treacherous.
— Daroach in reference toBuzzybat, inKirby Mass Attack

Buzzybat is aMid-Boss inKirby Mass Attack, and is the final one faced in the game if the stages were played in order, appearing inVolcano Valley - Stage 9. In his normal form, he is quite small, and only appears to be a yellow bat. However, he is capable of generating many other bats to protect himself, includingLi'lbats andPricklebats. The Kirbys can attack Buzzybat by pummeling him, but doing this in the first place can be quite tricky. Periodically, Buzzybat stops, and transforms into a giant tombstone, then tries to crash down on the Kirbys. Buzzybat's fight takes place in three phases, with the central bat becoming harder to hit each time. Once Buzzybat is defeated, he turns into a skeleton, granting the player 4,500 points and leaving the Kirbys to make their way toSkullord.

Buzzybat also appears inSurvival Rush, behind the three-Kirby door.

Miscellaneous flavor text[edit]

  • "Be careful when you wake up Buzzybat. His family will swarm around him. They're all dangerous, I tell you! Watch out when Buzzybat turns into a tombstone. Dash away if he does that! Steer clear of any Pricklebats too. Their spikes are savage, so do your best to avoid them while aiming for Buzzybat." --Daroach, inKirby Mass Attack
