Waddle Dees are known far and wide as puny foes. But they've been known to do what they can to bulk up. I've heard that some wear blocks like armor. Then they're tough guys!
— Daroach, referring toBlock Waddle Dee inKirby Mass Attack

Block Waddle Dee[Japanese title] is amid-boss inKirby Mass Attack. It is aBig Waddle Dee which protects itself by wearing armor made from aStar Block. Block Waddle Dee appears inDedede Resort - Stage 7, and is also faced inSurvival Rush behind the One-Kirby door.

Block Waddle Dee isn't very good at attacking, even when encased in its block. When it falls, the impact can crush Kirby, and when it jumps, it causes smallerStar Blocks and sometimesBluckos to fall, which can also crush Kirby. To fight it, Kirby has to repeatedly be flung into Block Waddle Dee's block armor to break it, then pummel the exposed Waddle Dee. Done three times, Block Waddle Dee is defeated, rewarding the player with 1,000 points.
