— Kirby: Triple Deluxe American English pause screen description

Bell is aCopy Ability which givesKirby a large bell hat with a pink star on the front and blue ribbon tied to the handle, with two additional handbells to use as weapons. The Bell ability is primarily used to create large damaging sound waves and pounding foes in rapid succession, but the bells themselves can also be thrown to deal damage from afar. Additionally, Kirby can hide inside his bell hat for a more effectiveguard, which will retaliate against attackers when struck. The Bell ability is among those which can be used underwater. Bell's sole provider is the elusive bell enemyRingle, who can only be occasionally found floating in the air or walking along the ground.

Bell made its debut appearance alongsideArcher,Beetle, andCircus inKirby: Triple Deluxe. Since then, it has made no main-series appearances (making it the only new Copy Ability introduced inTriple Deluxe to have this distinction), but it does appear again inKirby Fighters Deluxe and its sequelKirby Fighters 2. InKirby Fighters Deluxe in particular, Bell has to be unlocked by havingStreetPass data forKirby: Triple Deluxe on the same system.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]

The attacks from the new Bell copy ability look quite different from the other abilities. That’s because Kirby strikes enemies with the melody that flows out of the bells in each hand. By continuously attacking enemies with Ring-ding, the attack powers up to Ring-ding-dong, then to Ding Finale. To attack enemies who are farther away, throw the bells left and right simultaneously using Twin Tinker. The bell on Kirby’s head can also serve as protection by using Bell Block. To obtain the Bell ability, inhale a Ringle when you see it in the game!
— Satoshi Ishida,Miiverse post on 05/26/2014 9:13 AM

Bell debuts in this game and is obtainable from the enemyRingle. Bell is a fairly versatile ability for combat; it allows Kirby to attack from a distance, use a more powerfulGuard technique, and attack underwater with it. Kirby also appears to be enjoying himself while he bangs on the bells to create huge sound waves, as a smile can be seen on his face during some of the attacks. However, Bell is one of the less versatile abilities for puzzle-solving, having no elemental attacks or special objects to interact with.

Moveset[edit]

Kirby slams one of his bells into the ground in front of him, damaging foes with sound waves in addition to the bell itself.18→3 (2nd hit onward)
Ring-ding-dong
B repeatedly
Kirby slams his bells forward several times in rapid succession. This move will continue for as long as B is repeatedly pressed, and Kirby moves forward very slowly while using the attack. The tone from his bells becomes higher as he's repeatedly knocking the enemy. The knockback of each hit also increases. Therefore, it's impossible to do an infinite Ring-ding-dong combo on an enemy.18→3 (2nd hit onward)

Kirby finishes Ring-ding-dong by leaping into the air then slamming into the ground with his bells out on both sides, sending powerful sound waves across the stage which travel a great distance and damages foes on contact.38 (bell)

Kirby charges up and releases a big sound blast around him, creating bell-shaped waves that deal damage on contact.16

Kirby Fighters Deluxe[edit]

Bell appears as a selectable copy ability in this game, but it cannot be used unless the player has StreetPass data forKirby: Triple Deluxe on the sameNintendo 3DS system. It functions the same as it did in the previous game (excepting the underwater moves, as there is no water in the game).

Bell's Rare Outfit replaces Kirby's default bells withbonshō (Japanese temple bells) and gives the bells unique, duller sound effects.

Kirby Fighters 2[edit]

Bell returns as a playable ability for Kirby in this game, with the same moveset as it had inKirby Fighters Deluxe. It is unlocked upon reachingFighters Rank 37, making it the final Copy Ability to unlock in the game.

Bell has two Rare Hats, the first being Temple Bell, returning fromKirby Fighters Deluxe, and the other being Sleigh Bell, which causes Kirby's hat to resemble a Christmas tree and gives him a white moustache similar to Santa Claus.

For more precise competitive-oriented information on the Bell ability inKirby Fighters 2, seeMizuumi Wiki's page.

Ringle jumps out, but isinhaled quickly by Kirby, who then obtains the Bell ability.Broom Hatter explains that she and Ringle were guarding theStardust Crystal. The group then run intoKing Dedede and theWoodkeeper. Kirby notices the sibling trio sneaking away with the crystal and hits them with a loud tone. Broom Hatter tells him that Ringle's bell can be weaponized. Kirby then blows King Dedede away with the bell's sound. Dedede attacks, but Kirbyretreats into his bell, and Dedede strikes the bell and hurts his hands, giving Kirby the chance to triumph with a Quick Finale.
