Baton is aCopy Ability which appears only inKirby: Right Back at Ya!. It givesKirby the ability to control his enemies with a baton. It was added intoAir-Ride-in-Style - Part II as the result of it being one of the winners of theKirby of the Stars: New Ability Contest in Japan (being submitted by Yuya Nishiuchi from Fukushima prefecture). However, it is only used in a dream sequence, making itscanonicity questionable. Kirby gains this ability after inhaling a baton from one of theAir Riders.
Appearance[edit]
The Baton ability gives Kirby a staff-like baton. The baton is red (in the center) and yellow, while the tips are white and have tiny figurines of Kirby attached at the ends. It also gives Kirby a hat with red edges, which is white with a drawing of a staff on it.
Effect[edit]
The Baton throws a yellow ray, which when hitting an opponent, causes the opponent to have a yellow glow, after that the opponent will be synchronized with the stick, that is, any movement that Kirby makes with the baton will happen to the enemy. This lasts until the enemy is defeated.
In the Japanese version, Kirby shouts "Baton twirling!" while using this ability.
