Armor Waddle Dee[Japanese title] is alarge robotic shell resembling aWaddle Dee, making its first appearance inKirby's Return to Dream Land. It sports aperiscope and mechanical hammer-like bars to appear as its arms. It serves as a somewhat tougher variation ofPuppet Waddle Dee, as it is slightly harder to defeat and slightly more sluggish. As with Puppet Waddle Dee, it lacks proper feet and is controlled by three Waddle Dees underneath. It can be destroyed normally to throw out the Waddle Dees inside, or can be quickly defeated ifKirby swallows it with aSuper Inhale. It will simply attempt to make contact with Kirby, thereby dealingdamage to them both (though the Armor Waddle Dee's highdurability makes this less of a concern for it). A variant namedArmor Halcandle Dee[Japanese title] appears onHalcandra, though it differs only in aesthetics. It is silver with more noticeable robotic features, and is controlled instead by threeHalcandle Dees. It also lacks a periscope opposed to its original form.
Armor Waddle Dee additionally appears inKirby's Dream Collection Special Edition in theNew Challenge Stages.
