Esperanza "Zsa Zsa"Perez Padilla (born May 28, 1964) is a Filipino singer, actress, television host, music producer and businesswoman.[3]

Referred to as the "Divine Diva",[4] Padilla is recognized as one of the top female recording artists in the Philippines.[5] Before going solo in 1982, Padilla began her career in the mid 70s with the Filipino bandHotdog.[3] She has won aGawad Urian Award,[6] 2FAP Awards,[7] 3Golden Screen Awards[8] including the prestigious 'Decade Award' and received multiple nominations at theFAMAS Award. Padilla is also among the biggest-selling female music artists in the Philippines. According toPhilippine Association of the Record Industry, some of her best-selling albums include: Ikaw Lamang (Gold), Zsa Zsa (4× Platinum), Sentiments (Platinum) and Unchanging Love (Gold).[3] As an acclaimed actress, Padilla has played various genres ranging from drama, comedy and fantasy. She's best known forZsaZsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh,Batang PX,Ako Legal Wife: Mano Po 4 andMinsan Lang Kitang Iibigin.

Padilla was born asEsperanza Perez Padilla in 1964, the daughter of parents Esperanza"Kating" Felipa Perez and actor-sportsmanCarlos"Sonny" Padilla, Jr. She has three daughters, namelyKarylle[9] with Modesto Tatlonghari; andZia[10] andNicole[11] withDolphy Quizon.

Padilla and her husband,architect Conrad Onglao dwell on a $6.8 millionU-shaped mansion upon a 1,386 square-meter lot inBarangay San Lorenzo Village.[12] She had been engaged to Conrad Onglao from 2015 - 2016. The couple also owns Casa Esperanza, theirgreenholiday cottage inLucban, Quezon.[13]

Padilla suffers from abirth defect,megaureter since her leftureter caused her chronicurinary tract infection. In 2007, her first surgery was aminimally invasive procedure to remedy theureter. In 2012, Padilla underwent partial left kidneynephrectomy. In 2024, she had a(pee) reflux which caused her third surgery, alaparoscopy at theMount Elizabeth Hospital.[14]

Career

Padilla started in the mid-70s as the vocalist of theManila Sound band,Hotdog, and then went solo in 1982. In 1987, she had her first TV acting role in the series,Lovingly Yours, Helen. In the same year, she had her first movie role in the film,Mga Anak ni Facifica Falayfay, with the Filipino comedianDolphy, who became her partner of more than 20 years.
