Zibeline (/ˈzɪbəlɪn/ or/ˈzɪbəln/) is a thick, softfabric with a longnap.[1] It is usually made ofwool, such asmohair oralpaca, but can also be made from the hair of other animals, such ascamels.

Zibeline can also refer either to thesable (Martes zibellina) or to itspelt, from which zibeline was originally made.[citation needed]

Zibeline can also refer to a heavy silk fabric with a twill weave, very similar to Mikado.[citation needed] The notedapricot dress designed byOleg Cassini for U.S. First LadyJacqueline Kennedy was made in silk zibeline.
