Yicheng County (simplified Chinese:翼城县;traditional Chinese:翼城縣;pinyin:Yìchéng Xiàn) is a county in theprefecture-level city ofLinfen, in the south ofShanxi Province, China.[3] The county spans an area of 1,168 square kilometres (451 sq mi),[1] and is home to 323,517 people as of 2019.[2]
Yicheng County is located in southernShanxi Province, straddling both sides of theHui River [zh].[1] The county's elevation ranges from 473 to 1,556 meters in height.[1]
Yicheng County was the site ofJiang (t 絳,s 绛), which served for a time as the capital of thestate ofJin during theZhou.

Yicheng County has jurisdiction over 6towns and 4townships, which are further divided into 151administrative villages.[3][1] Yicheng's six towns areTangxing [zh] (唐兴镇),Nanliang (南梁镇),Lizhai [zh] (里寨镇),Longhua [zh] (隆化镇),Qiaoshang [zh] (桥上镇), andXirun [zh] (西阎镇).[1] Yicheng's four townships areZhongwei Township [zh] (中卫乡),Nantang Township [zh] (南唐乡),Wangzhuang Township [zh] (王庄乡), andJiaodi Township [zh] (浇底乡).[1] The county's government is seated in Tangxing.[1]
In 2019, the county government's fiscal revenue was 331.96 million yuan, of which, 211.66 million yuan came from tax revenue.[2]

As of 2019, the county's permanent population was 323,517, of which 137,500 were urban residents.[2] In 2019, the county recorded abirth rate of 8.75 per 1,000, and adeath rate of 5.9 per 1,000, resulting in anatural growth rate of 2.85 per 1,000.[2]
Yicheng reported aGDP of 7.14 billionyuan in 2019, a 4.1% increase from 2018, but relatively unchanged from its 2015 GDP of 7.07 billion yuan.[2] Retail sales totaled 3.82 billion yuan the same year.[2] The county has an average disposable income of 19,188 yuan, which is 32,404 yuan among urban residents and 12,796 yuan among rural residents.
Yicheng County has 40,173 hectares of cropland, as of 2019, of which, 38,825 hectares were devoted to grain production, mostlycorn andwheat, producing 186,701 tons of grain.[2]
Industrial enterprises in Yicheng County produced 3.531 million tons of rawcoal, 344,000 tons ofpig iron, and 36.21 million kWh ofelectricity in 2019.[2] The county primarily relies on coal for electricity production, but other sources of power generation are becoming more prominent.[2]
