Yi Chung-hwan (Korean: 이중환;Hanja: 李重煥; 1690–1756) was aJoseoncivil servant and geographer.[1] He wrote the classicTaengniji [ko] (1751), describingplaces in Korea in detail,[2][3] includingprovinces ofPyeong'an,Hamgyeong,Hwanghae,Gangwon,Gyeongsang,Jeolla,Chungcheong, andGyeonggi.[1]
