Xavier Pinson (born June 23, 2000) is an American professionalbasketball player for theOsceola Magic of theNBA G League. He playedcollege basketball for theMissouri Tigers,LSU Tigers andNew Mexico State Aggies.

High school career

Pinson attendedSt. Patrick High School inChicago, Illinois. He stood 5'1" as a freshman and made thevarsity team in his following year.[1] He transferred toSimeon Career Academy in Chicago, Illinois for his senior season, joiningTalen Horton-Tucker.[2] Pinson averaged 11.9 points and 3.8 assists per game, helping his team win Class 4A sectional andChicago Public League titles.[3] He originally committed to playing college basketball forKent State before reopening his recruitment.[4] A three-starrecruit, Pinson committed toMissouri over offers fromGeorgetown andWisconsin.[5]

College career

As a freshman at Missouri, Pinson averaged 6.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.[6] On February 18, 2020, he scored a sophomore season-high 32 points in a 71–68 win overOle Miss.[7] Pinson became one of his team's best offensive players during the month.[8] As a sophomore, he averaged 11.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. He declared for the2020 NBA draft before withdrawing his name and returning to college.[9] On January 23, 2021, Pinson scored 27 points in a 73–64 victory over sixth-rankedTennessee.[10] One week later, he scored 36 points in a 102–98 overtime win overTCU.[11] As a junior, Pinson averaged 13.6 points and 2.9 assists per game. For his senior season, he transferred toLSU.[12]

Montreal Alliance (2023)

After going undrafted in the2023 NBA draft, Pinson signed with theMontreal Alliance of theCanadian Elite Basketball League on July 15, 2023.[13]

Leicester Riders (2023)

On August 7, 2023, Pinson signed withLeicester Riders of theBritish Basketball League.[14]

Rip City Remix (2024)

On February 10, 2024, Pinson joined theRip City Remix of theNBA G League.[15] However, he was waived nine days later.[16]

Raptors 905 (2024)

On February 22, 2024, Pinson joinedRaptors 905,[17] but was waived on March 14.[17]

Salt Lake City Stars (2024)

On March 22, 2024, Pinson joined theSalt Lake City Stars.[18]

On October 25, 2024, Pinson was traded to theWisconsin Herd,[19] but was waived on November 7.[20] Four days later, he signed with theOsceola Magic,[21] but was waived on November 26 before playing for the Magic.[21]
