Whitegate railway station was the only intermediate stop on theWinsford and Over Branch Line; it served the village ofWhitegate, inCheshire, England.

History

The station was opened on 1 July 1870, in a remote rural location to the east of Marton Green.[3]

There was only one platform, as a passing loop for goods trains was provided. A goods yard with two sidings was provided on the south side of the line.[3]

The site today

The station buildings and platform are extant; they are used as a cafe for theWhitegate Way, ashared-use path which follows the old track bed.[3]
