West Bangka Regency (Indonesian:Kabupaten Bangka Barat) is aregency (kabupaten) ofBangka Belitung Islands Province,Indonesia. It comprises the northwestern part ofBangka Island, together with a number of small islands off its coast. The regency covers an area of 2,820.61 km2[2] and had a population of 175,110 at the 2010 Census,[3] rising to 204,612 at the 2020 census;[4] the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 209,791 - comprising 108,102 males and 101,689 females.[1] The town ofMuntok is its regency seat.
At the time of the 2010 Census, the Regency was divided into fivedistricts (kecamatan), but a sixth (Parittiga) was created subsequently. These are tabulated below with their areas and their populations at the 2010 Census[3] and the 2020 Census,[4] together with the official estimates as at mid 2022.[1] The table includes the locations of the district administrative centres, the number ofadministrative villages in each district (totaling 60 ruraldesa and 6 urbankelurahan), and its post code.
