Wanakawri (Quechua, also spelledGuanacaure, Guanacauri, Huanacaure, Huanacauri, Wanacaure, Wanacauri, Wanakaure, Wanakauri) is an archaeological site[2] and a legendary mountain inPeru. It is situated in theCusco Region,Cusco Province, in the districtsSan Jerónimo andSan Sebastián, and in theParuro Province,Yaurisque District.[3][4] The mountain with the archaeological remains is 4,089 metres (13,415 ft) high[5] and one of the highest elevations nearCusco.[4]
