WRAD-AM-FM are owned byMonticello Media LLC. The studios and offices are on Lee Highway in Radford. By day, WRAD is powered at 5,000 wattsnon-directional. At night, to protect other stations on1460 AM from interference, WRAD reduces power to 37 watts.[3]
Much of the weekday schedule on WRAD-AM-FM isnationally syndicated. Hosts includeBrian Kilmeade,Charlie Kirk,Sean Hannity,Dave Ramsey andRed Eye Radio. Weekends feature shows on money, health, real estate, and technology. Weekend hosts includeKim Komando, as well as repeats of weekday shows. Most hours begin with an update fromFox News Radio.
The stationsigned on the air in 1950. In 1965, it added asister station, WRAD-FM at 101.7MHz.
WRAD-AM-FM had been owned and operated byCumulus Media, Inc.[4] On September 6, 2018, Cumulus Media announced it would sell its Blacksburg cluster toMonticello Media.[5] The sale was approved December 1, 2018.[6]
