Victor D. Thompson is an American archaeologist.
Thompson earned his bachelor's degree in archaeology at theUniversity of Georgia, then completed graduate study in the subject at theUniversity of Kentucky,[1] graduating with a PhD in 2006.[2] He is a distinguished research professor at theUniversity of Georgia,[3] and was elected a fellow of theAmerican Association for the Advancement of Science in 2023.[4] He was named director of theGeorgia Museum of Natural History the following year.[5][6]
