Vece Paes (born 30 April 1945) is an Indian formerhockey midfielder, representing the Indian team in the1972 Munich Olympics, that won the bronze medal.[1] He is the father oftennis playerLeander Paes. He is also a doctor in sports medicine,[2] and served as the president of theCalcutta Cricket and Football Club.[3][4]
Paes studied Pre-medical course fromPresidency College, Calcutta during 1964-65.He attendedLa Martiniere College inLucknow.[5] He is married toJennifer Dutton, great-granddaughter of Bengali writerMichael Madhusudan Dutt.
