Tykhe (Ukrainian:Тихе; Russian:Тихое) is a village inVovchansk urban hromada,Chuhuiv Raion,Kharkiv Oblast, easternUkraine. It is located 60.48 kilometres (37.58 mi) northeast by east (NEbE) of the centre ofKharkiv city, about 4.09 kilometres (2.54 mi) south of theRussia–Ukraine border.
Tykhe lies on the right bank of theVovcha river.
The settlement was founded in 1670.
The village came under attack byRussian forces during the2024 Kharkiv offensive of theRussian invasion of Ukraine.[2][3]
As of the2001 Ukrainian census, the settlement had 163 inhabitants, whosenative languages were 65.85%Ukrainian, 32.32%Russian, 0.61%Belarusian, 0.61%Bulgarian and 0.61%Polish.[1]
Elements of the Russian 228th Motorized Rifle Regiment (90th Tank Division, 41st Combined Arms Army [CAA], Central Military District [CMD]) have reportedly recently fought in Tykhe.
The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian forces conducted ground attacks near Hlyboke, Vovchansk, Hatyshche (west of Vovchansk), and Tykhe (east of Vovchansk). /.../ ISW recently assessed that the 136th Motorized Rifle Brigade transferred from western Zaporizhia Oblast to northern Kharkiv Oblast to conduct a relief in place for elements of the 83rd Airborne (VDV) Brigade in Tykhe.
