Tsigie Gebreselama (born 30 September 2000) is an Ethiopianlong-distance runner. She won the silver medal in the women's race at the2023 World Cross Country Championships and bronze for the junior women's race at the2019 World Cross Country Championships. In 2019, she also won the15 km road race at theIstanbul Marathon.[1]
At the2018 World Under-20 Championships, 17-year-old Tsigie Gebreselama won the bronze medal in thewomen's 3000 metres event.
In 2019, she won the bronze medal in thejunior women's race at theWorld Cross Country Championships with a time of 20:50.[2][3] In the same year, she also won the 15 kmMontferland Run held in's-Heerenberg, Netherlands, setting a new course record of 47:29.[4]
The 20-year-old competed in thewomen's 10,000 metres event at the postponed2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021.[5]
She won the silver medal for the women's race at the2023 World Cross Country Championships held inBathurst, Australia.[6]
In 2024, She won the 5000 metres at thePrefontaine Classic inEugene clocking a time of 14:18.76 moving her up to 14th on theall time top list[7] She competed in thewomen's 10,000 metres event at the2024 Summer Olympics held in Paris, France.
