Trenton is anunincorporated community andcensus-designated place (CDP) in northwesternWilliams County,North Dakota, United States. It lies alongNorth Dakota Highway 1804 southwest of the city ofWilliston, thecounty seat of Williams County.[3] The community lies 220 miles north-west ofBismarck. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the2020 census.

Amtrak’sEmpire Builder, which operates betweenSeattle/Portland andChicago, passes through the town onBNSF tracks, but makes no stop. Thenearest station is located inWilliston, 14 miles (23 km) to the northeast.
In July 2013, AnAmtrakEmpire Builder train collided with a bulldozer 9 miles (14 km) west of Trenton, killing the operator.[7]
