Toototobi Riveris ariver in theAmazon Rainforest ofAmazonas,Brazil. It is atributary of the upperRio Demini near theheadwaters of theOrinoco.
The river flows through the territory of Kopenawa near the border ofVenezuela. The so-called "ToototobiYanomamiíndios" take their name from this river.Davi Kopenawa Yanomami, ashaman andPortuguese-speakingspokesperson of that tribal group, was born close to it. The area may be a starting point for theepidemics ofmeasles and otherdiseases which decimated the local peoples starting in the 1970s.
