Anthony Joseph Mansolino (born September 28, 1982) is an American professionalbaseballcoach for theBaltimore Orioles ofMajor League Baseball.
Mansolino attendedVanderbilt University, where he playedcollege baseball for theVanderbilt Commodores. In 2003, he playedcollegiate summer baseball with theYarmouth–Dennis Red Sox of theCape Cod Baseball League.[2] ThePittsburgh Pirates selected him in the 26th round of the2005 MLB draft. He played inMinor League Baseball for six seasons before being hired by theCleveland Indians to serve as thehitting coach for theMahoning Valley Scrappers.[3] He was themanager for theLake County Captains in 2016.[4] Mansolino managed theLynchburg Hillcats in 2017, and was named theCarolina League Manager of the Year. He was promoted to manage theAkron RubberDucks in 2018[5] and theColumbus Clippers in 2019.[3]
During the 2020 season, Mansolino served as Cleveland's third base coach whenMike Sarbaugh, their third base coach, served as the acting bench coach whileSandy Alomar Jr., the bench coach, filled in as their acting manager whileTerry Francona was away from the team with a medical condition.[6] The Orioles hired Mansolino as their third base coach after the 2020 season.[7]
His father,Doug Mansolino, is a former baseball coach.[8]
