TheThyrididae comprise thefamily ofpicture-winged leafmoths. They are the only family in thesuperfamilyThyridoidea, which sometimes has been included in thePyraloidea, but this is not supported bycladistic analysis.[citation needed]
Most species live in thetropics andsubtropics. They are colourful and oftenday-flying moths.[1] There are foursubfamilies.[citation needed] Their biology is little known.[citation needed] Thyridid specimens are rare in museum collections.[citation needed]
