The Rebel Son is a 1938 Britishhistorical adventure film directed byAdrian Brunel and starringHarry Baur,Anthony Bushell andRoger Livesey.^[1]^[2]Patricia Roc also appears in her first screen role.^[3] It is a re-working byAlexander Korda of Granowski's 1936French film adaptation of the Russian novelTaras Bulba by Russian classic writerNikolai Gogol, set in the 17th centuryUkraine.^[4]

It was also known by thealternative titlesThe Barbarian and the Lady orThe Rebel Son of Taras Bulba.^[1]
