TheBridge Tour was a 1986–1987concert tour by singer-songwriterBilly Joel. This tour was the first tour by Joel in over two years, during which he marriedChristie Brinkley, had his daughterAlexa Ray Joel, and written and recordedThe Bridge album.

Background

Following a performance onLate Night with David Letterman,[1] the tour began on September 29, 1986, inGlens Falls, New York[2] and ended on August 5, 1987, with the last of six shows across theSoviet Union inLeningrad.[3]

The tour continued on October 17 under a new name ("The Encore Australasian Tour")[4] and returned across Australia and in New Zealand. The tour officially ended on November 28, 1987, inChristchurch, New Zealand.
