I think the template should includeCHEX 21 (CBCOshawa). (If we were in the habit of spelling out the formal -TV suffixes, CHEX-TV-2. In this format, we could probably label it CHEX-2 if anybody thought that important...) Objections, support, thoughts?Samaritan10:48, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be listed. especially since CHEX used to be carried on cable systems in the Scarborough area. not too sure if it still is, though.

Since when is CFMT-DT on 69? -Hinto05:36, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

More stations to crowd toronto market?

[edit]

I've been reviewing the FCC database, and i've seen some new channel allocations/station applications for theGreater Toronto Area. All station applications so far have been forToronto,Ontario, and are to broadcast from theCN Tower The stations are:

These also show up on other websites, such ashttp://www.tvfool.com, which has a rather large resource for TV stations and signals (even KMZ files to show signal strength of stations). Now, does this mean more stations are going to take to the air in the Toronto area?RingtailedFoxTalkStalk14:58, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In 2001 there was a call for applications for channel 52 Toronto, which CKXT (Craig) won. CJAA-TV was Alliance Atlantis' application (with rebroadcasters CJAA-TV-46 Hamilton & CJAA-TV-39 Kitchener.) CHMY-TV was another one of these applicants, possibly TorStar? CJIS-TV was a 1997 Trinity Television application, an unconfirmed 1999 pre-CKXT grant, and possibly a later proposed takeover of CKXT. (JIS = Jesus is Saviour). I can't find confirmation on CJIS. It was also assigned digital 66. W. Update - I believe CHMY-TV was an application by TDNG "Hometown Television".— Precedingunsigned comment added by24.36.208.172 (talk)14:13, 22 April 2013 (UTC)http://www.hamilton.ca/Hamilton.Portal/Inc/PortalPDFs/ClerkPDFs/committee-hearings/2001/oct30/Item%205.5.pdf[reply]

Cable Stations in Broadcast Listing

[edit]

Maybe I really missed something about the changing definition of the term broadcast, but these provider specific cable stations are not broadcasted. Either the description for this needs to be Local Television or the cable stations should be removed.

CJAA-TV
