I made this template look more like the Islam one, almost exactly like it, however it is a bit smaller. Any information that was specific to Twelverism was taken out, and more information that applied to all Shi'ah groups was added. This correlates with the big changes on the Twelvers template front, and the Ismailis template front.—The precedingunsigned comment was added byEnzuru (talk •contribs) 20:21, April 21, 2007 (UTC).
I noticed that some things listed on this template are not universally accepted by all Shi'a; to be more specific, it seems that in some ways the majority view (Twelver) is being represented as the only view.Ismah isn't accepted by Zaidis andThe Occultation isn't accepted by Zaidis and some Ismailis. With that in mind, I think those ought not be linked to on this template but rather on the templates for the Twelver and (in the case of Occultation) Ismaili branches.MezzoMezzo (talk)04:27, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to go ahead and remove things that are only specific to certain branches of Shia then, and not general to all of them, such as those mentioned above.MezzoMezzo (talk)03:45, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The image being used is template doesn't seems to align with Shia belief & practice of suffixing the Name/Title of Imams with Alaihis'Salam. I think this needs to be rectified.--Fztcs16:42, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the image should be changed. "R.A." is normally not appended to Ali's name in Shia Islam; "A.S." is normally used instead. In addition, having Ali's name as the image in the infobox may give the false impression that Shias place a greater importance on Ali than Muhammad. I reverted the image back to an older version's image that had a logo of Ghadeer.Snowsky Mountain (talk)20:36, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ThanksSnowsky Mountain, BTW...your changes (which I failed to noticed) were undone by an IP and I had put, which too was reverted. As, of now I have restored the image put by you ie, lets see.
ThanksFaizhaider! Maybe if this continues we should request that the template be IP-protected. The other image that you mentioned (File:14Infallible+Bismillah.png) looks good as well but it might be a little too wide for the template -- maybe it would be better for the pagePortal:Shia Islam?--Snowsky Mountaintalkcontribs2020-06-23T00:01:31signed on behalf byFztcs
Snowsky Mountain, again, it has been replaced, I have fixed it with summary asking for Talk-Page discussion. Regarding the 14Infallible+Bismillah.png img I don't intend to use it here as it is specific to Twelver while this one is generic Shia tamplate.--Fztcs
What are those 2 in the picture doing is not so clear, besides it is already being used here:Portal:Shia Islam, 2 person in green color is that the representation of this sect? you can find something better if you continue to search.161.253.74.2 (talk)18:58, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you care to read the description of image and details regarding it, you'll come to know it is one of the defining moments of Shia doctrine & history. Regarding it's usage and suggestion of it's replacement I secondEditor-1's comment.--Fztcs19:55, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really think the image in the template is appropriate, it is ambiguous (praising? wailing? crying? waving at planes?) and I think the previous image,195px|Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim, should replace it or really anything that isn't supposed to represent human figures. I was going to do this but there is a message saying to come here first to rasie the subject so that's what I'm doing.LizRead!Talk!19:09, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
