Tej Pratap Singh Yadav (born 21 November 1987) is an Indian politician is anMLA representing theKarhal and formerMember of Parliament in the IndianLok Sabha, where he represented theMainpuri,Uttar Pradesh, from 2014 to 2019 as a member of theSamajwadi Party.

Early life and education

Tej Pratap Singh Yadav was born on 21 November 1987 inSaifai village ofEtawah district to Ranvir Singh Yadav and Mridula Yadav.

He studied at the Colonel Brown Cambridge School,Dehradun, and theDelhi Public School,Noida. He graduated with an MBA from theLeeds University Business School.

His grandfather Ratan Singh Yadav, was the elder brother ofMulayam Singh Yadav.[1]

Hariom Yadav, the formerMLA of Sirsaganj and Shikohabad is his maternal granduncle.

Career

He successfully contested a by-election to replace his granduncle,Mulayam Singh Yadav, as theMember of Parliament of theMainpuri.[1] He Successfully contested a by-election to replace his uncle,Akhilesh Yadav, as theMLA of theKarhal.

Personal life

In 2015, Tej Pratap married Raj Lakshmi Yadav, the youngest daughter ofLalu Prasad Yadav andRabri Devi.[2] The couple had a child in 2016.[3]

Educational organisations

He is part of management committee of two colleges namedChaudhary Charan Singh Post Graduate College andChaudhary Charan Singh College of Law, both colleges established byMulayam Singh Yadav.
