Formic and Acetic acid?

Hi, is anyone watching here? I think we should remove formic and acetic acid from the list at the top of the article. See this post I made at the reference desk[1], as well as this definition from IUPAC[2]. The definition of fatty acid is obviously a bit loose, but I don't see howformic acid oracetic acid (or evenpropionic acid) can be said to fit the definition given atfatty acid. If I don't get any feedback within a few days I will make the deletion.SemanticMantis (talk)21:57, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The IUPAC page states that the term fatty acidis sometimes used to embraceall acyclic aliphatic carboxylic acids. As such, it's not entirely incorrect to refer to small aliphatic carboxylic acids as fatty acids. --IO Device (talk)05:54, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
