Josh Groban was featured on “Who do you think you are?” season 6 episode 2. His first American immigrant was Johann Jacob Zimmerman who was a deacon chased out of the Lutheran Church. He was a scientist, mathematician, and musician as well. Zimmeran was a prolific writer who saw change coming after seeing Halley’s Comet. Newton mentioned Zimmerman’s wwritings about the comet. Zimmerman died on his way to America with his family as he planned to join Penn’s settlement and it was written that many other pietists begged him not to go. It was very interesting and brings to life the struggles of people who came to the US in search of religious freedom.AngelRQJ (talk)06:31, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
