It has been proposed that all station specific articles for AFR stations be merged intoAmerican Family Radio. Stations which provide no local programming or other content and carry nothing but network provided programming lack sufficient notability to warrant an article. However, any station that does provide sufficient local programming or has a history (such as ownership changes) which warrants coverage, should not be merged. SeeWP:WPRS for more information. I see no problems in doing this. A lot of other similar stations are merged in this fashion. I don't believe any of the AFR affiliates carry sufficient local programming, but I could be wrong. Any other thoughts would help. --Milonica (talk)04:10, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! When you merge a station in, you need to keep all the content from that station, including city, lat long, ERP, HAAT, FMQ link to coverage map, etc. That's what we come here to look for. So please, please make a nice succinct table with the information about the stations, and add a section for the historical information you "erased" about how this company came to own all the stations! I agree. The radio networks all broadcast on local stations. Each station takes up precious FM or AM bandwidth, and each station is a fixture on its town or region's radio spectrum. No radio network broadcasts from a single, monolithic "source"; in order to be a network, it must have multiple local stations on board. And, under American broadcasting law, radio stations are supposed to serve local needs, so each local station (if it's not a translator) is not just an outlet pipe for a network but an entity established for the public good, even if it carries only network programming. Articles on USA radio stations should reflect that, because that's part of the nature of American radio broadcasting.Michael Patrick (talk)22:19, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
